Some very nice work here. Charlie Larkin -
Nicely done. Charlie Larkin

Dark brown metallic with a tan interior and vinyl top is very vintage-appropriate, too. Any Earth-tone color can look like. Old Car Brochures has a '76 full-size brochure, and you can get plenty of color ideas. Charlie Larkin

Going Topless! Lindberg's Sebring Convertible

You'll have to do a little hunting for one, but they're out there. Long OOP. Perhaps Round 2 may see fit to make a run of them. Charlie Larkin -
Love it. How did you make the body, Eric? Charlie Larkin

Nick, it's very good to see you back at the bench. The 1:1s can be a bit tiring, and the break will be welcome. Looks great. Thinking back to a few years ago, you've made GIGANTIC steps. Great work. Hope you can make it to NNL-East. It would be nice to see you again. Bring Maggie with you. Hey...see if you can get her to build something, too. You've got her wrenching a little, maybe you can get her to start gluing herself to herself, too! If you two want, make a weekend of it, and I can probably arrange to get you two to the City. I have a few friends that live there now and we can get in a little private tour/sight-seeing. Charlie Larkin

Best single year ever?

1938- The height of Art Deco. 1941- Elegance blended with Art Deco and enough chrome and stainless. 1957- The height of the Jet Age and far too many well-designed cars to discount it. 1965-66- Elegance untamed and unrestrained. Charlie Larkin -
Evercoat Euro-Soft sounds like it would be pretty close. Call your local bodyshop jobber, they should have it. Neat project, Geoff. Charlie Larkin

Great interior, and nice paint. The chestnut stripe would look nice, I think. If you decide against it, perhaps red? Charlie Larkin -
Very nice. Charlie Larkin

Any plans to replicate the Regal and T-Type badging? To that end, I wonder if MCG has something? Charlie Larkin

No kids here, either. Then again, there really aren't a lot of kids on my street. One of my friends had about 50 in another town, and almost nobody lives on her street. Charlie Larkin

Try foiling first, then painting. I've found that can really help. Remove the paint with a white vinyl eraser or super-super-fine sandpaper, like 1500 or higher grit. Charlie Larkin

Feels good, doesn't it? I get that every so often around town. Charlie Larkin

That's one of the things I truly miss about teaching. I loved being able to build a relationship with the kids and get everyone on the same page. It might take time, but it would happen. Unfortunately, teaching has become so horribly political and the curriculum gutted by hacks and cronies, that, combined with a lot of administrators' inability or refusal to think outside their narrowly-defined little boxes, I don't think I could do it again. Perhaps someday, maybe as a volunteer for an entrepreneurial studies class or something like that. Haven't ruled out college, either. Charlie Larkin

Going to make the welder appear operable? Good trick if you pull it off. The rest of your work is very good. Charlie Larkin

Well done. Very powerful imagery. Charlie Larkin

That looks great, Ron. Emberglo is absolutely one of the best colors ever put on a car. Charlie Larkin -

Another Restoration. 59 Mercury Almost Done
charlie8575 replied to Porscheman's topic in WIP: Model Cars
The red and black interior is a bit dressed up from stock, which is nice, but still factory-looking. I have a '60 to disassemble. Testors Turquoise Metallic is an almost dead-perfect match for the exterior and interior surfaces, so that'll probably be the color I use. I've got the hardtop version of this I plan to restore. Needs some help, but it's doable. I'm thinking two-tone blue for that. This will be another winner when it's done. Charlie Larkin -

Interesting it holds together without glue like that. Might have to try that. What colors are you going with? Charlie Larkin -
Could I interest you in a repeat performance with an undamaged model and send it to be cast? I think quite a few would sell for the caster that ends up with it. Excellent work. Charlie Larkin
