  1. Nice details, especially the e-brake cable. Charlie Larkin
  2. Coming out very nicely indeed. Charlie Larkin
  3. Very nice work on making that wagon. Good weathering work, too. Charlie Larkin
  4. Some very nice work. Good ideas I may appropriate for my own use. Charlie Larkin
  5. I couldn't even bear to start the video. I have enough trouble sleeping as it is. Yet, I'm laughing at a lot of these posts because they're funny and they do a great job at harpooning how utterly, incomprehensibly stupid these people are. Bill's right. The Idiocracy has arrived. And it is us. Charlie Larkin
  6. In addition to other things, I have a part-time job for the tax season with H&R Block. I announce my business publicly about Dec. 1. Things are starting to look a bit better. Charlie Larkin
  7. I was dead-tired at a reasonable hour for the first time in months (finally!) And awake an hour later. May try again soon. Charlie Larkin
  8. So, the doors are correct for the coupe? I had this conversation with someone a ways back, but doesn't one of the two body styles have a longer curb-side door or something like that? In any event, I remember it was a case to re-scribing the door-lines to fix the problem. I have one of these downstairs from the mid-late '80s, although I don't know if it has the coupe roof in it (probably does,) if not, so I grab another one. Charlie Larkin
  9. Very cool project. I'll have to grab a copy of that when it hits the newsstands. Charlie Larkin
  10. Nice color pick. Try the medium blue interior. Testors Gloss Bright Blue is in the ballpark. Semi-gloos/Dullcote as needed for best results. Charlie Larkin
  11. Another masterpiece. If I ever get married, a wife that could see the cool factor behind this project in 1:1 is a prerequisite. Charlie Larkin
  12. Nice gloss. And yes, red was an available color choice in '68 for the interiors. Most cars offered it. Charlie Larkin
  13. I wonder if The Modelhaus parts are the original 1962/'63/'64 parts? Charlie Larkin
  14. Jump-start on LIARS' theme. Well, other than the Tamiya Silver Leaf paint. For two hours, that came out remarkably well. Charlie Larkin
  15. '66 Chevy pickup is a maybe. Might grab a GT, too. Those are nice-looking cars. Waiting to see what else they do. Charlie Larkin
  16. My personal preference has become the rubber grip-discs for opening....stubborn jars! You can get one at most supermarkets and a lot of banks and other businesses have been known to give them out as promos. Absolutely clean the jar off before re-capping. If you need to, hit it with some thinner to get all the crud out. Keep the little cardboard disc in the lid. It helps keep things tidy and the paint from drying out. Charlie Larkin
  17. I have to agree, that Revell snap kit is a gem. Goes together very easily and looks super. Charlie Larkin
  18. If that car is absolutely spotless when it's done, $6-7500 is a reasonable estimate. I'd have it appraised by a professional automobile appraiser. There are several advertising in Hemmings. You probably will not make your retirement money on this, although if you manage the project intelligently, you'll still make some money in all likelihood, especially if it's fairly straight rust-wise. More than that, you're preserving an important piece of automotive history, and that's worth more than all the money in the world. As an idea, once restored, if you have no takers, consider donating it to the AACA Museum in Hershey. You'll be able to deduct its full fair market value as a charitable deduction from your federal income taxes (and state if your state allows charitable deduction,) and you might be able to deduct at least a portion of the purchase price and restoration costs as well, under those circumstances. Consult an accountant or a registered tax preparer for your specific situation. Charlie Larkin
  19. I like that color on it. For years, I've been trying to get a 1969-72 GP model, and they're all either priced in orbit or get launched very, very quickly. That is really one tool I would be ecstatic to see Round 2 de-mess-up from that horrid custom and return it to a stock car. Charlie Larkin
  20. Too bad LIARS and NNL-South ended up the same weekend. I was looking forward to seeing you guys. Had things gone a bit differently, I was seriously toying with Atlanta, but even if money wasn't a question, time is. Have a great trip. Charlie Larkin
  21. For that kind of money, you'd be crazy not to. Make any repairs needed, keep it as authentic as possible, and then offer it to the club. Your price (within reason) will probably be met,or a reasonable offer. Charlie Larkin
  22. So, this one is only a few years old? Charlie Larkin
  23. GM buyout in the works?? I used to teach at Twin Valley (2005-06,) and had a few kids from Readsboro. Miss it up there. Beautiful area, nice people. Charlie Larkin
  24. If you make the trip to NNL-East next April, Jeff, you'll get the opportunity to meet them. They'll most likely be there. NNL-East is most definitely worth the trip, too. Great show, lots of nice people and a superb vendor area. Tom Geiger and his team at TSMCC do a stellar job, and are a true treasure of the hobby. April 16, Wayne, N.J. the theme is cars of the 1930s, any make, any style. MassCar usually makes a car-pool down on Saturday morning. I try to head down Friday to make travel a little easier and rent a room at a hotel. Charlie Larkin
  25. I love that color. Charlie Larkin
