Rob Hall replied to Tom Geiger's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I use Amazon Prime, and I do pay AZ sales tax on orders... -
My '00 Jeep Grand Cherokee hit 150k miles last week. Still rollin'... my '11 Cadillac STS hit 25k today.

Round 2 wants to know what you want!
Rob Hall replied to Blown03SVT's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Can't recall if I posted in this thread on this topic previously or not, but what I suggested to Round 2 on their site was more modern subjects--whether curbside or not, I'd like it to see cars like the Chevy SS, '14 Camaro Z/28, '14 Corvette Stingray and '15 Z06, Cadillac ATS, CTS, CTS-v, '15 Mustang GT (sounds like this one is going to happen), 11+ Charger R/T or SRT, current Viper, 11+ Chrysler 300C SRT. -

Well, that is something that happened over 45 years ago...pretty obscure. -
Neat... a buddy of mine in Denver has his motorhome decorated w/ Broncos flags and logos, he won a tailgating competition at Mile High Stadium one year. I just have my little Broncos horsey logo in the back window of my Jeep.

That green Corvette convertible is gorgeous..the Ranchero is pretty cool also.
-
Does he even visit the forums anymore? Don't see him around..
-
Nice..reminds me of the one I used to have...I had a silver '96 for about 10 years.
-
Exactly. The current arrangement with NASCAR and drag only makes no sense.
-
It would be nice... having only NASCAR and Drag forums is a bit narrow. There are many other forms of motorsport that people build models of..I have a bunch of F1, Indy, endurance and road racing kits along w/ a few WRC subjects.

The KITT kit was an '82 or '83 Firebird originally. MPC kept releasing the Firebird as an annual through '88 then from '89-92 as an AMT. So the body tooling was updated and this reissue is probably a mix of the later body tooling (the Turbo GTA IPC from '89) with older parts. The rear bumper should be different also--the '82 had more of a squared off bumper than the '89. IIRC, the original KITT kit has a stock interior except for the dash and steering wheel. I built it as a kid back in the day and later acquired the regular Firebird annuals of that era.

Hmm... I saw the Sox & Martin '68 Hemi Barracuda, don't recall seeing a '66 there. Edit: checked the catalog, there was no '66 Hemi Barracuda listed..he probably is thinking of the '68 Sox & Martin Barracuda.. http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/lotdetails.aspx?ln=5017&aid=525 -

Barrett Jackson Auction Begin Today!
Rob Hall replied to Misha's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Saw it from distance in a display case yesterday, don't know what it went for. Staying home today to watch the NFL playoffs. Went back yesterday to see the cars outside and watch some of the auction..a highlight of the day for me was standing in front of the 1998 Ferrari F1 car outside and hearing it start up... -
Barrett Jackson Auction Begin Today!
Rob Hall replied to Misha's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Spent most of this evening in the main hall at B-J..they've expanded the indoor exhibit space since last year. Going back tomorrow to see the cars outside. The Gooding & Company auction (also in Scottsdale) this afternoon was really incredible as far as the classic European cars--vintage Ferraris, Fiats, Mercedes, Lancias, a Facel Vega, BMW M1, etc... In the Ford exhibit at the entrance I saw a '15 Mustang GT, looked very sharp in person..also saw the new '14 CTS, Camaro Z-28, Corvette Stingray and Silverado in the GM exhibit. -

2006 ram 1500 4.7 magnum tach troubles.
Rob Hall replied to Mrdarkmonkey96's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Not necessarily. When one of the sensors on my Jeep failed (it may have been the crank one--had to replace many sensors in the last 5 years), it didn't throw a code..it just had anomalous behavior like the engine shutting off at 70 mph and then being hard to to start. -
2015 Ford Mustang Snap Kit as a giveaway at NAIAS
Rob Hall replied to carsntrucks4you's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I wonder if they will do a promo version and sell it at Ford dealers...would be a neat retro touch.... Though it's been a while since Revell has done promos, most recent ones have been from Round 2. -
2015 Ford Mustang Snap Kit as a giveaway at NAIAS
Rob Hall replied to carsntrucks4you's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Meh..just a Snap Tite. If they had announced a full detail '15 Mustang, that would have been interesting. At least the 'Expert Toy Model Assembler' in the video was young instead of one of the creepy geriatrics that haunt various online modeling forums. -

Could be the transmission range sensor--usually a P0700 or P0705 code. There is also the differential position sensor. Replaced both of those on my Jeep. -
2006 ram 1500 4.7 magnum tach troubles.
Rob Hall replied to Mrdarkmonkey96's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Hmmm...this sounds very similar to what happened w/ my Jeep (4.0 6) a few years ago. The check engine light came on and it kind of hiccuped--was shifting strangely. it threw a code that indicated cylinder 5 wasn't firing, turned out it was a bad coil pack and a bad crankshaft position sensor. I would check on allpar or a Ram-specific forum also. -
Beautiful build of a beautiful car..love the color.
