Thanks for sharing. As a big 32 Ford fan I've been intrigued by these frames when i saw them on FB. They do look quite well engineered, and your fit-up with the Revell fender proves that fact. And now i know how much work it will take to get them whipped into shape. Now it's saving up my pennies to swallow that big shipping pill that comes with ordering from "down under"

There is a company out of Australia that has some nicely designed 32 Ford frames. However, there appear to be a lot of "steps" in their prints, so that's what has put me off from ordering yet. But that may not be a big deal on a larger part like a frame. I'd love to hear feedback from someone that has actually bought their products before i buy He is also a member here https://bullyscustoms.wixsite.com/website

'32 Ford roadster gluebomb rework. April 26: back on track
Mr. Metallic replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Not to hijack your thread, but is this the most recent version of the Lindberg kit you are referring too? -
That box art for the 53 Stude is just stunning, including the side panels.

1929 Ford Model A Sport Coupe Hot Rod
Mr. Metallic replied to Rocking Rodney Rat's topic in Model Cars
Well done. Clean execution as always from your bench. That color is something else. Subtle yet sinister. I wasn't sure about the integrated visor into the roof when you were in the build, but you pulled it off. Well done -
Nicely done. I have this one in my stash, would love to actually build some of these mid-century European cars because the designs are so classic. Nice job adding subtle upgrades to the nice kit. Especially like the paint detailing on the chassis.
-
I remember that. Some people were bummed when they didn't materialize, but note enough interest I guess. I've never had an intact 1st issue woody/pickup kit with the parts on the trees to know where the Hot Curl parts are located and if they're just welded closed or replaced by new parts. But looking at the pic below my guess would be they're just welded off. I know Round2 has spent money to bring back cool stuff before (go cart, soap box racer, mini bikes, etc) but I don't know if there would be return on investment for this quirky little item. If anyone has these parts in their stash I'd take them off your hands. I have ideas.

Really nice job. When I saw the title i was really hoping this is what it would be. Your weathering and damage are well executed and not overdone.

Cool conversion Just wondering why you had to split the front fenders and move the outer portion of the whole thing forward?
-
No, not really. Don't be bummed. There's leaked box art, and multiple reliable sources (including an official Revell USA rep) that says it should be out in 2021 Of course, if you really want to build a 30 coupe, Drag city Castings offers an improved 30 Coupe body that you can bash with the current Revell 29 A roadster kit

Well, i just scored an original issue woody/pickup combo, so I'm sure Round2 will announce it now. The pickup/woody would make a cool retro release, especially if they included the Hot Curl figure again. Throw some cool pad printed tires and decals in the mix and some retro box art and I'd buy another. Just please, never issue those hamburger meat snow tires again. I'd love to see the 28 sedan back too.

Man, that's exactly why i love the mid-60's GM designs. So clean. Thanks for sharing -
1/25 AMT 1964 Olds Cutlass F85 Convertible

I think there are drag parts, including the crazy dual Judson blown motor and possibly the full tonneau -
This is the last reissue of the roadster that i can recall, before the Rat Roaster (which is a new tool). Maybe something happened to the tooling (worn out?) and that's why they went all new with the RR? Or perhaps it's just patiently waiting the the warehouse to be run again. Although I would prefer to see the RR instead since it has some unique parts. maybe just don't do the RR branding? The kit from this series that really needs to come back is the Sedan. It was only issued once, and commands strong prices on eBay, WHEN they come up at all. I know eBay pricing is not a true indicator of the need for a reissue, but the scarcity of availability is.

Back to the 80's (aka the Bodacious Billet Build-off)
Mr. Metallic replied to Mr. Metallic's topic in Community Builds
Glad this community build is gathering steam while I've been away. Everyone's progress is looking good. Tim, that scratchbuilt frame is sick! -
Thank you for saying something. Revell US was doing quite well at the time. They didn't go bankrupt, their parent company did (Hobbico)

Kits in Walmart For Christmas
Mr. Metallic replied to OldNYJim's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I seem to remember doing this same thing last Christmas season, so it's not Covid related. It's really a simple sales tool for them. No time wasted stocking shelves, as I'm sure the display comes on a pallet straight from the Round2 warehouse. They just plop it down in the aisle and let the sales fly.
