  1. The chassis and engine look exactly like my '68 did. ))
  2. It's hard climbing out of that Black! ... beautiful!
  3. This looks like an amazing model and will be watching to see one go together
  4. A lot of kits I've never seen and some beautiful builds of some ... BUILD THEM ALL! My rarest is a Product Miniature Corp. 1951 Plymouth Promo that I tore apart to build my first car. It's still in the process but has been massaged with body fixes and all chrome trim added.
  5. All your engines are stunning and would be an inspiration for everyone. I say do it!
  6. Oh yeah, Beetles in New England winters ... a '68 and '69 I barely survived in, not to mention the '54 in I had in Germany. Know I know why they made so many in Brazil. ... watching, and reading, this!
  7. That's a real eye popper!
  8. Beautiful build!
  9. A real beauty!
  10. Very cool project
  11. Very interesting .. ))
  12. A dead ringer for a VW Rabbit
  13. This is not a good source, as you'll have to find the kit, but I used the wheels from the Gunze Sangyo High-Tech TR2 La Mans kit, shown here on the left. These are great looking wire wheels for older sports cars, just an option for you.
  14. I replaced the Skorpian body with a mouse body ... the opposite of that intended!

    Porsche 961

It sure looks good to me. Satin looks beautiful on this car.
  16. Nicely done!
  17. I like how the engine is looking. I sounds like a story is needed to guide this toward what you want it to look like. The 924's were pretty cheap and there had to be people modifying them for whatever race venue they liked. I lived in Neckarsulm where they were assembled at the old NSU plant by Audi. Consider a group of old NSU mechanics, or new Audi wrenches, acquiring a discarded 924 off the line and doing what THEY thought would work to get it on a track. I'm really enjoying seeing your work on this!
  18. I/m just going to agree with Cary's words .... yes, stunning weathering.
  19. This looks fantastic

    Beautiful!
  21. I'm loving all these builds!
  22. I like the look of this engine. The intake manifold looks great and may need a wide toothbrush to carve it from, like I did with the intake box on mine. All the pieces look doable from bits and pieces. You might note, the 944 engine was a new design based on half of the 928 V8. The 924 was based on an Audi truck engine, heavily breathed on by Porsche. I notice the 924 distributor looks like a typical American distributor and is at the rear of the engine. The 944 distributor (and the ones in the 944 kits) have a flat round one at the front of the engine. It looks like they moved the battery from right rear of engine bay, where the fluid/water bottles are. Lots of modifications from stock 924. They are pretty similar in shape so the 944 engine should look good, especially with all the pieces added.
  23. I'm curious how you're going to do the engine. Some of the 924 Carreras has some cool looking engines, cool turbo intakes. I went the opposite direction making a turbo naturally aspirated for my '87 944 ... and my long time avatar. ))
