  1. ABSOLUTELY love IT!
  2. I got in the habit several years ago when I was more able to find and buy collections to keep one car as it was when I bought the collection. I have had little qualms cutting up and starting or trading all the others but ALWAYS leave one untouched except a gently cleaning.
  3. So.....do I modify the AMT 67 (which I have a couple minus chassis....great for Johan Mavericks) with a previous re-issue or should I wait for this to hit the shelves? I'm not sure this body is right but its a lot closer.... Not sure which decals are better, these or Slixx.
  4. Is this the foundation for the Satellite that MPC released? If not, this is one Muldowney car I don't remember seeing before.
  5. A bump please......saw this at Hobby Lobby and I'm really tempted. Anyone got one with any build comments? Mike
  6. I don't know if your Dad has passed or not. Mine has. That colors my viewpoints on this collection. Those models are a connection to your father and a hobby you both shared. When you look at them sometimes you'll only see plastic kits from fifty or sixty years ago. At other times you'll see your Dad, his joy and the love you shared. I inherited a large model train collection. Most of it is insignificant to me. There's an unfinished garden railway that I'll have to remove prior to selling my parent's house when that responsibility falls to me. That will be a hard project. I also received an old Tyco General Engine that may not run. Its where Dad left it. Every time I go into his train room and see it, I remember him. Most of the trains will be sold on eBay or at train shows. The General will eventually find its way to my office or a special shelf at home. Keep those kits.....I can identify most of them for you....most have been reissued. Their value is minor compared to what that connection with your Dad means to you.
  7. They have a facebook page up with a picture of the flyer..... Mike
  8. They were my first thought......before Matthew joined us I used to sell at the Louisville show. It was always a GREAT show. Hopefully I'll be able to return soon.
  9. My son is performing in Louisville at a national youth symphony competition. If any Louisville members have any suggestions where they might be able to practice on the evening of Wednesday, March 5th, please pm me. Thanks, Mike
  10. I'm hoping a Louisville modeler can help me. My son is part of a high school symphony. They will be in Louisville to compete in a national competition. On Wednesday night, March 5 they need a place for about 50 players to practice. If you know someplace we should look into, please pm me.
  11. Wish it was my garage!
  12. Great build so far.....This has a lot of potential. Where'd you get the pictures of the restoration?
  13. The rotary table is a must. Take a look at:http://www.scalemotorcars.com/content.php?r=295-Machining-1-8th-scale-Beadlock-Rims-Part-1 I'm starting to believe its easier to do large scale than small scale stuff.
  14. I'd actually love the first one. Not retro at all. Not sure if retro is good thinking its ran its course.
  15. SRT -Cuda.....if you trust Car and Driver. Take a look at http://www.caranddriver.com/features/2015-srt-barracuda-future-cars and http://www.motorauthority.com/pictures/1026018_dodge-challenger-barracuda-concept-turns-up-at-sema_gallery-1 Looking at the net seems like everything is add on parts to the Challenger or a completely new car. With the need to compete against new Mustangs and Camaros, I'd bet a clean sheet of paper design.
  16. I ought to pull one out of my stash and try it. That's a really nice build. Color looks right.
  17. Mix part A with part B.....Nascar inspired pro touring.
  18. "Those of you with teenagers, when was the last time you saw one reading a car magazine? Online doesn't count either." My Son...... Car and Driver and Road and Track. Now getting him to build models? Maybe assemble a die-cast. Oh well......
  19. Rodders Digest and Hot Rod Deluxe are the only two I pick up without checking them out on the news stand. I have a subscription to Hot Rod, a gift, but its cheap enough that its worth it for the every third issue that I like.
  20. Yes and yes. Depends of course on price.
  21. Noah Wylie is in Falling Skies a pretty big cable hit.
  22. Didn't make it here to West Virginia either......
  23. I'd prefer a larger fret with a lot of tabs. Often I'm building and want something specific but don't want to wait for something I have to order. If I need more than what's on the fret, I need to buy another fret. I think ala carts sales will be an inventory nightmare for minimal profit.
  24. It looks right.....it looks real. I don't think there is any greater praise for a model.
