Heller Renault R8 Gordini
lucky 130 replied to Nacho Z's topic in WIP: Other Racing: Road Racing, Land Speed Racers
The floor was body color.( blue or white) no carpet. These were "ready to race " outside of France. Don't forget the red G on the rocker cover. The door panels were body color, with simi gloss black/ flat black inserts.- 34 replies

Ray, I have watched your builds and enjoyed every one. You are part of the reason I started building again. Hope you change your mind and keep building something. Your work, and witt will be missed by me.

Like your take on the Chargers, especially the convert. Gives me some ideas. Maby combine the two . See you've got my mind working, and it's going to cost me money. On second though, thanks a bunch.

There were not many imported to this country. As far as I know, they were "ready to race" (NOT) and came with acid dipped body's except for the doors. The engine floated the valves @ about 5500 rpms. The French team supposedly ran the same motor, but they revved much higher. A quick change of Valve springs, Triumph 650 comp springs fit the bill and that along with a blank factory cam sent to Isky cams and the little hemi came to life, and became very competitive . Don't buy "French Blue paint unless it matches the color of the blue on the spur's it will not be correct. It will be too dark. Leave off the fender flares, in this country, they raced in C/ sedan SCCA. This kit builds into a nice model, with a little research and detail, it can be a fine replica. Enjoy building a little known "hot rod" ( they could out run a mustang) from France.- 34 replies

I have built this kit several times. some tweeks need to be made. Install the rear panel, and that will help align everything. The model is molded in a very close color to the factory blue. Careful with the glue and polish the plastic. you can get a realistic color & finish. These were really fum and quick cars, after a change of valve springs, and some other tricks, you could get around 140 mph. Keep posting, I will be following.- 34 replies

1/25 AMT 1966 Mustang GT -- Original Annual & Modified Reissue
lucky 130 replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Built one of these when they first came out many moons ago. As I remember, I used about a tube of that wonderful "putty" that came in AMT kits, just on the side vent filler. was a good kit for the tome. Like I said it was many many moons.- 216 replies

Back when I entered contests', one I entered required wheels to roll. I spent my time building a model to be as realistic as possible, only to have one of the judges hit it with my trophy, because the wheels rolled, my model ending up in pieces, because said model could not be shown in advertising, I was disqualified. Last contest I ever entered. Also the last time the wheels on my models no longer roll!

Oh no! Not another piece of art calling it'self a model. The amount of detail, metal work, is unbelievable. WOW, and every other thing I can say. I do have one question, what weight oil and brand are you going to use? -

Really, really nice and well done. Details like the "separation line" between the white and the orange, set this beast off. -

I remember "Rick" from another forum, his work is always well done and well thought out . Glad to see you here. -
this is such a great idea. I am in the process of building a custom 58 chevy and have been looking for just this kind of thing, and you've given me more money saving ideas. Thanks Mike

Well, another weekend blown. Got 217 yesterday, and have only put it down, to eat, sleep, and to do other things as needed. So thanks for being the cause of my inability to do any "honey doos". I really hate having to do this, but a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do. The sacrifices we must endure for models.

I'm doing a similar chop on a VW and have run into some minor issues, but nothing too awful. I agree Bondo works. I like where you are headed, can't wait for more. Model on.

Got mine day before yesterday. Great issue. Really liked the article on the "Ala Cart, had the original, built it way back then... don't remember mone looking like that, but I could be wrong.
