  1. Really like the color combo!
  2. I spent 32 years servicing ATM's of every make and configuration. The brail, headphone jacks were not the banks nor the manufacturing company. the cause of both of those wonderful additives, was the federal government, and their laws re guarding handicapped persons.
  3. Learned to drive in a 1955 Plymouth Savoy 4 door. 3 on the tree with an overdrive, and a V8. don't remember what size. Took drivers test in a 1966 Oldsmobile 442 convertible with 3 duces. The officer asked me how long I'd been driving I said since I was 11, he said let's go get a milkshake and we did. By the way, I passed.
  4. GOT MY COPY Sat. My wife made me put it down and come to supper Sat. night. She made me put it down and come to bed. She told me she'd better not see it again for the rest of the weekend or she was going to see a lawyer. I'm still weighing my potions!
  5. You can find strange Cobras. please keep it up, and I'll keep enjoying your searches.
  6. As usual, fine work on a snake. I really like seeing what you come up on a Cobra. Build on my friend.
  7. You should be pleased. It turned out fantastic. As for Ray's turning out half as good, I can guarantee that, just let me build yours:)
  8. According to R2 the 1964 California drag comb will be released in April.
  9. Just saw this Ray. A beautiful car and a great color combo. To think it's not even a Cobra!
  10. Renualt has always been Renualt until some sportcaster started saying Renau. I reced these cars and sold them for years. They were always Renualt.
  11. Back in the day, I used to build 1/24 slot car frames in brass. I know what a chore it is to keep everything lined up and square. Your work is second to none. Just amazing!
  12. How do you like the minimal amount of cleanup? The frame/ suspension build up square if you follow the directions. This was the first resin build I had ever done, and while not the easiest, it was the most satisfying. Good luck and enjoy.
  13. I suggested you take the 'dip" out of the doors, and you were correct. Setting by it's self, just looks kind of different, I'll bet when it sets next to a stock Merc, it'll look WILD. Masterful work. Can't wait to see more.
  14. What Cobra Man said x2. My favorite. Except for the 289's and the 427's and GT40's. Aw heck I love everthing Shelby!
  15. Thanks Guys. I really would like to get a few.
  16. I may have missed it but does anyone know when R2 is going to release the "Drag combo"?
  17. great build. Fireball was my hero back then. I too would like to see NASCAR go back to it's roots. The only problem I see is None of todays drivers, and I do mean none, could compete. they're just not strong enough. Took a lot of upper body strength to man handle those cars, plus a great deal of internal strength that todays bunch just don't have.
  18. you sure have made the old boxy Merc. look fast standing still. Why not go one step further and take the "dip" out of the door, something no one seems to do anymore . All it takes is a little bit of Putty and it makes the body line smooth out. Just a suggestion, not a complaint. The car looks amazing!
  19. I won an auction for 2 older Monogram kits for $25.00 One was a Darrel Waltrip Combo, the other was #3 Wrangler combo. While these are probably not the most accurate kits, I thought they would be good fodder for bashing, etc. Imagine my surprise, when I picked them up and found they were very heavy for combo kits. The boxes were sealed with packing tape. I got home, opened the boxes only to find built up models, highly detailed, ( wired & plumed) detail painting, a total of 20 different models of various cars and drivers. The quality of the builds is so good, I don't want to or need to disassemble them as I could do no better.
  20. In 1967, I believe it was the Daytona 500, Wendell wrecked his car in practice and pretty much destroyed the front clip. A bid shot with Holman Moody told him he could use the front sheet metal from his personal car. Wendel spent most of the night removing and replacing the sheet metal and had it ready for qualifying the next day. I don't remember where he qualified, or where he finished, I'm sure he was in the top 10 or 15, but when the race was over, he thanked the H/M rep, loaded the car on his trailer, new front sheet metal( from H/M reps car and toodeled back home with a smile on his face. I am so glad to see someone build a tribute to Wendel. He was, and will be the best non white driver, that ever sat behind a wheel.
  21. Ray, don't throw your money down a black hole. It is one of the most inaccurate kits I've ever seen.
  22. You know when I retired, I thought, Oh boy now I got time to work on my favorite hobby! Well, I keep finding these unbelievable threads to follow, and I cant find time for modeling. I have seen some of the very best that modeling has to offer, and I cant stop looking. You sir are in a league of your own. This little coup and all that goes with it is art work and my hat is off to you. Thanks for sharing .
  23. You are like an old girlfriend of mine, teas, teas, teas. Like someone said "always leave em wanting more. You are a true artist, and I'm waiting for MORE!!!!!!!! I know you have a life outside of building, but is there any way you could give just a little bit MORE? Just giving you a hard time. Well sort of. ?
  24. If you look at the 289 motor, the oil pan is flat. Flatten the Chevy oil pan like wise, and I believe it will work.
  25. Mr. Jones, this is and has always been one of my favorite racing cars. following along with your build has been eye opening event. I have seen some fine model building in this forum, this is not one. This is an artistic labor of love. I have never seen this attention to detail in any other build, especially in 1/12 scale. Just the amount of work that went into making the doors open properly....WOW! Anyway thanks for your build and sharing it with us. I cannot wait to see more. Thanks again. Mike
