  1. Amazing! After those seats you were still able to finish the kit.Whew! Great job on one of my favorite cars.
  2. Tim, thanks for the over view. Great work. The only problem is my wife. She who will be obeyed, said she didn't mind the cost so much, but the storage is getting out of hand. Since she sees you as the most of the problem, she believes storage should at least in some part your responsibility. Just to give you a heads up. She said the bill will follow.?
  3. One of the funniest adds came from waaaay back in the 60's. A VW commercial showing a "Bug" going up a fancy drive, it comes to a stop, and Wilt Chamberlin gets out. Watching that much man get out of that little bit of a car was just funny, not to mention it sold a whole lot of Beetles.
  4. The "dipping" you are talking about is spraying different colors on top of water, dipping a model through the paint, letting the paint dry, smoothing paint with a light touch and a polishing cloth, clear coating and finish with polishing. The "film" being discussed is like a wrap, way out of scale, needs heat to conform. Ray, you may not care for the dipping method, you nailed it pretty good, and on a Stude. You guys should try it, you can come up with some really wild paint jobs.
  5. I had no intentions of getting this kit. Since seeing your build, I've gotten an idea, now I got to get one. This of course will require stealth, to sneak it into my collection, due to the no more rule made by she who will be obeyed. So thanks for getting me back into the dog house.
  6. In their era of racing, you had Fangio, Sterilng Moss, and Mike Hawthorne, They were the GOATS of their time. They could of driven circles around most of the drivers who have come since.
  7. Really kool color combo, altho I couldn't for the life of me why you didn't polish out the lint in the roof, then I realized it was on MY screen! We all get old, sorry.
  8. Have you given any thoughts about making "eyebrows" for the head lights to help with the flat look?
  9. Wild! The chop is perfect, all the body work just makes it look fast sitting still.
  10. In Knoxville, Tn. Walmart does not carry any modeling supplies, and has not in years. HL selection is sparse at best. We do have a Hobby Town. If you want something, say like any after market items, good luck. On line is the only way I know of in this area to buy any thing after market. So consider yourselves lucky if you can go to your lhs and get your stuff.
  11. You can find braided fishing line in several diameters, at Walmart. It is called Spider line, braided, as they make several types. The entire fishing line area can be a detail builders candy shop, been using is for years.
  12. All those years spent away from the hobby, I spent honing my modeling skills. Maybe some day I'll be able to build as nice as you. Mike
  13. and Ed Zink in Knoxville, Tn. managed to really get the power out of that small engine.
  14. Kool! Looks like it just rolled out of 77 Sunset Strip. With Kooki right behind.
  15. While the blocks were small,1.3 liters, they had hemispherical heads that Gordini messaged into a surprisingly quick motors. Drove a R8 Gordini. At Road Atlanta, I regularly hit 140/145, with basically the same motor.
  16. Oh no not another masterful build. I cant get anything done for looking and reading about all these wonderful master pieces of scale modeling. I really like the body work, and the engine is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
  17. Git the last of my Christmas presents today. My "Better Half" ordered me the Cal. Drag Combo. took from 10/04/20 till today. have not mastered posting pics, so I'll give a quick review. 3 separate bags of models Falcon, Galaxie, and tow trailer. The trailer has been realest several times. so there are no surprises. The "Falcon" and the Galaxie like wise have been released several times also. All are good starting points for really good models by adding details and painting. I'm stoked & by the time I finish them, maybe I'll have learned how to post pics.
  18. Had not seen this before, the guy talking about doing his Chevelle dash, is enough to get me to try. Thanks Ric
  19. Just found this. That is one Kool LSR. Powered by "COBRA"?
  20. Very interesting. Anytime you improve a Cheby with the addition of ford parts , is a good thing. Keep on keepin on!
  21. Really nice take on a custom. I really like the way you took the "dip" out of the door, I've not seen that done. Sweet!
  22. Most excellent duedlet. If he's already that good at 13, think about what he'll be like ay 23.
  23. Still watching, in total awe and respect. This is one masterpiece! Should be in the model hall of fame.
