  1. Very cool.....I never got one of those.....wish I did. It triggered memory of me going once a month to the hobby shop and ordering 5 Roundhouse MDC 3 bay C&O hopper cars. Total was under $10.....lots of money when I was making $2.25 hour driving delivery. Still have them all.....about 25 of them.
  2. For everyday use I use Dupli-color #1699 sealer. I use the Tamiya for what I'd call contest paints or were I NEED a pure white primer. I don't like change so I'll stick.....but it's good when you find what works for each person!
  3. I just got that kit from a buddy......it will become 'Dude...where's my car' Renault.....Nice work!
  4. $11.00 with 40% off everyday is a deal. ($6.60) Tamyia is the best scale primer IMHO ONLY
  5. I had the 1/16 Aurora garage building.......be cool if they did it in 1/25......maybe with a clear cover/side.
  6. WOW....super clean work!
  7. A sleeper....nice work!
  8. I remember when those came out.....too much $$$$ at the time.....
  9. IIRC they had a run of bad carrier once.....not sure if these were in those decal
  10. OK...I can see the difference.......So a 4 door Imperial had two different models?? Just trying to figure out a car I don't know much about. thx
  11. Hmmmm......what's the difference between this 4 door and the resin body??
  12. And 25% off in DEC in the stock lasts that long!!!
  13. A great era of F1 racing.....
  14. Dave'/Model King dealings went back before Tomy buy out to the RC2 era. I helped on many of the reissues that Model King did. RC2 was great to work with as was the vendor in China that ran the kits and cloned tooling. When we reissued the Monte Carlo NASCAR kit the body was trash and the tooling had been disassembled and was a mess. I sent a mint body to China for them to clone. It was a good era. Tom Lowe LEASED AMT from Tomy as it is true they had no idea what to do with it. He had his own plans and ended up buying the plastic division. This is not a slam of current owners R2 as they have a different business model. Truth is we still offer input on kits and they listen to us. And I've gotten to work on a few of the R2 kits too. Just again a different era. The Imperial is an example. For such a small hobby we have it pretty good.
  15. That's what you need to build the 'Sin City' movie car....thus mine 'inspired'.....
  16. Nice work!!! Those are nice kits. Mine I built years ago...and a bit beat up now!
  17. I get repaid very well........ My buddy has a fantastic hillside Mid Century Modern home (listed as historic) and he allows me to stay with him as I want!!!
  18. I've bought a number of kits for friends in So Cal as no Ollie's!!
  19. COOL work! I can see that built with a Ward Indy kit.
  20. YEP! Time.......and time is money. They get pallets of cased kits in from Hobbico, Break them down by case and ship them out. No rhyme or reason....just get them in stores so we can get some kind of ROI. What goes where is not much concern to a few warehouse workers.....it all looks the same. Pretty simple from a business point of view. I think they figure they will sell them all Christmas time.....Grandma will buy the dogs we don't!
  21. My info is that it will be a reissue of the kit Model King restored a few years back. We have been asking for a reissue as Model King made two runs of the kit and both sold out fast. A decent little kit. Happy they are bring it back. My build inspired by the film 'Sin City' pretty much box stock....
  22. Might be best to add this to the two Ollie's threads running now....
  23. If there is only one season left it will be a wild one!!!! Kim has to disappear, never to be spoken of again! Jimmy/Saul has a long way to go to be the guy we see in BB. Both sides of the drug cartel has a lot of changes due. It'd be a big season!!
