Thank you Paul. I always liked the way Rodders Journal listed all the modifications. -

"32 Ford Roadster - Tribute to Gray Baskerville's hot rod
Phildaupho replied to Phildaupho's topic in Model Cars
Thanks everyone. I appreciate your comments. -
This model is a tribute to the well known ’32 Ford Roadster that was the daily driver of the late - lamented Gray Baskerville who was a popular photographer and writer for Hot Rod and Rod & Custom magazines. In 2007 for the 75th anniversary of the ’32 Ford, Gray’s hot rod was identified as one of 75 most significant Deuces. A cover story on the car that appeared in Rodders’ Journal made me realize how similar in many respects the 1/24 Revell/Monogram ’32 Roadster kit is to Gray’s car. My intention was not to build an exact replica but a model that captures many of the distinctive features of Gray’s hot rod as I really enjoy building tribute models. With some previous models I have strived for them to be very close replicas but lately my new strategy has been “close counts” or least making the model recognizable or reminiscent of the actual car that inspired it. For instance, with this model, I concentrated on the upside but maintained the kit rearend and transmission. Gray’s rod had a ’52 Lincoln rearend with split wishbones and the transmission was a Powerglide. ALTERATIONS & ADDITIONS Removed bumper brackets and fabricated nerf bars Aluminum spreader bars front & rear Firewall to radiator stay rods are sewing needles Added radiator cap Filled holes for door handles and rumble seat handles and smoothed the radiator grill shell top Removed V-8 emblem from headlight bar Headlight lenses from current Revell Model A kit Column shifter steering column from AMT ’49 Merc with a ’40 Ford steering wheel from Rev 5-W kit Adapted interior from Revell 5-Window Coupe Black faced gauges added behind drilled out kit dash Rearview mirrors added the windshield Grafted in stock hood side louvers from Rev 1/25 Deuce kit Lowered suspension front and rear Body painted with Tamiya Italian Red overcoated with Simi-gloss clear. Interior and primer painted with Tamiya Red Brown

Looks fantastic from where I am sitting. I was at the Monterey Historics the year Jim Hall and Chaparral were the featured marque so saw them all up close and at speed. -
Gorgeous looking Deuce. Very well built from a great kit.

Very well built and great photos.

Super tidy build. Well done.
-
Very well built and attractive Deuce from a great kit. Lately I have been dechroming the entire front end assembly and then gluing it completely together before painting or chroming it.
-
Super nice. Well built.

WOW - two incredibly well built and interesting dragsters. That is probably the coolest flathead I have every seen. I have got to find out more about. -
Very attractive. The wheels lol very appropriate.

Very well built and displayed. I love the white slicks. A wonderful illustration of a great series of Deuce kits from Revell.
