Nice progress. That's why many of us use photos to "proof" our work. I can't tell you how many times I've caught painting and building errors while reviewing my build progress photos. I think our brains process the visual information from images differently than they do from objects. Whatever the reason, photos can be a powerful tool in that regard. David G.

truck, boat, and trailer

What a gorgeous pair! ? David G. -
I think you've made a good choice for the engine. I have to say though, I think that this is the first tilt front end that I've seen on a car of this configuration. Wait, I take that back. I can recall a '40 Ford coupe with a fiberglass flip-nose. Still, it's gonna be cool, nice job getting it all sorted. BTW, I've also had build projects that went back into the box until my skills caught up with my ambitions. My Chevy Proton took me almost a decade to complete. David G.

One of my first cars was a '71 Ventura with a 250 in it. It sure was easy to change the starter on it. I can still remember standing inside the engine bay and sitting on the fender well to do that! David G.

Nice detail work on the engine. It should have a K-Mart oil filter on it though. David G.

Absolutely Beautiful! That final photo is great! The use of light, camera angle and setting really come together nicely. Oh, and the model turned out really good too! David G.

RIVIERA ROYALE: a heavily customized coachbuilt 1966 Buick Riviera
David G. replied to Claude Thibodeau's topic in Model Cars
Holy Cow, that's wild! A tremendous amount of work, all of it exceedingly well done! It makes me think of a vehicle built for a science fiction movie sometime in the Seventies. David G. -
It looks great for a quick knock-out! It's a shame about the decals though. David G.

Looks like a fun project. David G.

This should be quite interesting.... you have my interest. David G.

Sweet looking color! David G.

It looks great! It seems that you managed to get the air boxes installed under the hood. I had trouble getting the ones in mine to fit so I left them out. I'm curious, did you have any trouble getting the grille and bumper to fit correctly on the front end? I had problems getting the ones on the convertible I built to fit flush having to "file to fit" as it were. In any case, nicely done with yours! David G.

That works, it looks right to my eye. David G.

It looks cool with the multicolored plastic, like retail camouflage! I bought some plastic "Yard Sale" and "No Trespassing" signs of varying thicknesses at Home a number of years ago for exactly that same purpose. Inexpensive styrene sheet stock for custom build projects. Getting styrene that way sure is a heck of a lot cheaper than buying Evergreen for the same purpose. David G.

That's quite the challenge you've created for yourself! ? It looks like you a good handle on it though. It's just going to be a pain to get it to bend to your will. Having experienced my own similar self-imposed trials and advanced building lessons caused me to add the following quotes to my signature line: Model builders, we're problem solvers who create our own problems to solve! Each kit I build is really only practice for the next one! I'm sure you'll find a way to get it all pulled together. David G.

You accomplished quit a lot in 2022 Bob! I remember watching the Ranchero come together, impressive work on that! I like the MG, one doesn't see many of those coups in the real world let alone in model form. The Zingers and other cartoon builds are a bit of fun that's nicely done. David G.

The body mods (corrections?) are nicely done. I'm interested to see where you go with this. David G.

I agree, it's one of the most beautiful cars ever designed. Your version certainly does it justice, well done! David G.

Sweet looking Charger! Excellent work with the decals. The blue Charger is nice too. David G. -
Nicely Done! I like that you kept all the old promo features on the chassis. Nice touch. David G.
