Nice work! What did you use for the louvered vents? I don't recall those being a part of the kit, at least they weren't in the one I built. David G.

Thanks for your vote of confidence Carl. I don't know how many times it's been reissued. I would guess around three or four times with the most recent being the 2002 issue which I'm currently building. It's been issued at least once as a glow-in-the-dark model. I've seen a couple of those built up that turned out surprisingly well. Have you built one yet? If so, I'd be interested in seeing how it turned out. David G.

Hello Everybody! This is the Mummy Machine by AMT-ERTL. And MPC at least according to the logo cast on the bottom of the body tub. I first encountered this kit back during its original release period around 1975. So yeah, this is another nostalgia build in which I try to recapture my youth. I don't believe that I ever completed building it as I can remember having the mummy mead and other various bits around for years afterward. Believe it or not, this model kit is based on an actual show car created by Jack Kampney in the early Seventies. The molds for this kit are truly showing their age with prominent ejector pin marks and other artifacts and flaws. Serious clean-up required. That's all for now. As always, please feel free to post a comment and thanks for taking the time to stop and look. David G.

I wish you good luck getting the paint details sorted. It's a drag to have such a thing happen so close to completion. David G.

Thanks Kurt, but I've made a few of my own over the years. Maybe that's why my eye was drawn to the one on yours. Kurt, everything you've done with this build goes way above and beyond anything that the kit designers could have ever imagined. To me, it certainly looks like it's been worth the effort. But in the end, if you're pleased with it, then it's worth the effort. David G. David G. -
