truck, boat, and trailer
David G. replied to Paul Payne's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
It's definitely a boat with a presence! One thing I'm curious about though is those two seats that face each other, it doesn't look like there's going to be enough leg room for any occupants. Or is that just the camera angle? David G. -

It's a tough call but I'm leaning toward option A. To my eye it puts the contrasts in the right locations. David G. -

Great work on the blower assembly so far. David G. -
Beautiful build Mario, love the color combination. The fifth photo (rear 3/4 oblique near the stairs) has a great viewpoint angle and lighting, giving it a nice dramatic feel and good visual interest. David G.

The level of decal work on such cars both inspires and terrifies me. Beautiful work on each and every one of them. David G.

1964 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible.
David G. replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Steve, every one of your WIP threads is a multi-faceted "how-to" on improving models. Though I may not post often, I always enjoy following along and almost always learn something new. Certainly I've said it before, but thanks for taking the time to document and post these builds. I know from my own experience that remembering to stop and take photos then edit and caption them can often take as much time as the actual benchwork itself. So, thanks... again. David G. -
Thank you Chaz, I'm glad to know you like it. David G.

Hello Everybody! Prep on the body turned out to be rather easy, just a few faint parting lines along the tops of the fenders and along the front clip. Once these were smoothed out, I reprimed and smoothed the primer down a bit then sprayed it with Tamiya TS-53 Deep Metallic Blue. I like the way it came out. As always, thanks for stopping by to have a look. Pease feel free to share your opinion or any tips and recommendations you may have. David G.

Thank you David. Yeah, Given the appearance and time period I figured that this one was based on the Barris Futura Batmobile. I'm still impressed by the way they engineered this kit from old comic book illustrations. But I guess almost everything that's built starts from a drawing, doesn't it? Thanks Tim. I'm keeping an eye out for one of those too, and anything else "of the Bat". I've always been a Bat-Fan, my Mom said as a toddler, I used to run around the house with a bath towel draped around my shoulders singing "Mat-man! Mat-man! Na-na-na Na-na-na, Mat-man!" David G.

Nice catch on the body dimensions. Even better work fixing it, I can't tell that anything was even done to it. David G. -
