  1. The metallic paint on the engine and frame look spectacular! What paint did you use on them? The GSW looks like it came out well enough. I may have to look into getting some myself. David G.
  2. Quite an accomplishment for the year! I love the color on the Challenger. David G.
  3. I, too am a fan of the classic Mopars. Rockin' a great start on this one! David G.

  7. Beautiful diorama, very convincing. I can almost smell the dust and grit. "Yeah, that's restorable!" David G.
  8. Hello Everybody! I got the motor assembly and fan finished enough for a test fit. I used some styrene rod and tubing sleeved together and cross-drilled for the motor housing. The support struts are made from .020 music wire. I think I can be happy with this. Now it's time to focus on finishing up the interior details. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. David G.
  9. Aside from the decal mishap, what a fabulous build so far! I look forward to seeing more. David G.

  18. Hello Everybody! In getting ready to assemble the main deck, I discovered more warpage. This makes two of the two main structure pieces that have had a significant warp. As this is really the first wooden model I've built, I don't know if this is unusual or just the nature of the beast. I was able to "weight it out"... for the most part. The main frame uprights were composed of four parts per side and were assembled lamination style. Thankfully, they were straight and mostly square with the deck when assembled. I think there will be enough flexibility to allow for some tweaking if it needs to be trued up as assembly proceeds. And still, the warp. ? The wide tolerances of the design seem to allow for some variation so I don't think it will be much of a problem. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. 19. Thanks Bob. I agree, the engineering was astounding and they were quite formidable weapons. David G.
  20. Great work on those A-pillars! Most people don't consciously notice subtle details like that but all those subtleties add up to create an overall greater impression of realism. David G.
  21. It's a bummer about the paint issue, did you manage to get that sorted? The chassis looks great, I love all the detail work you've put into it. David G.
  22. Dann, I am continually amazed at how you manage to accomplish so much so quickly and do it so well! It usually takes me a couple of months to build a kit from a box with the minor mods that I usually do. And here you are scratch-building a chassis and body in just a few days! Just. Wow. David G.
  23. Thanks for being where you are and doing what you do Dave! There, now it's no longer a "Thankless Job"! Regards, David G.
  24. What a great pair of Volksies! I honest thought that the first photo was of a 1:1 Baja Bug in a parking lot that you were using as inspiration for a replica build. The rust effects on the other one look great! David G.
  25. That's one great looking Gasser! The engine is almost half as big as the whole car! ? David G.
