  1. Hello All. In the world of model cars, the 49 Mercury is one of those iconic cars that pretty much every builder takes a crack at. By now, most of us have seen just about every possible custom version that can be built. Chopped, channeled, shaved, lowered, sectioned, ratted-out and dialed in, there are some great builds out there, but I wanted to do something with mine that hadn't been done before. So here it is, The Joker-Mobile. The Joker in this world is somewhere between those of Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger. The decals were a little chunky but not too bad for the most part. I think the lowered rear suspension works well with the overall image. Go ahead, call 911, he loves the attention. The hood is a little warped but that's OK so is the driver. Undercarriage. TNT, a tire iron and a Tommy! What more does a psycho need? Yes he was! There are a few more photos I want to take and post. Probably in the next couple of days as time allows. Thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. David G.

  4. Sweet! Great work with the decals. David G.
  5. Thank you, I appreciate the comment. I also have a build thread if you're interested in how it all came together. There were a number of adjustments that I needed to make to bring it all together. Here's a link. David G.
  6. Thanks Trevor. I was a little concerned because sometimes folks complain about "zombie threads" that come back to life. It's nice to know that my effort is appreciated, both regarding the thread and the model. Thank you Kari. I like the Javelin too... maybe a little better than the Matador . A friend in high school had a 71 Javelin with a 401 ci (6.6 liter) V8. Great looking car, crazy fast too. BTW, I also repaired the photos in the Under Glass section for this car too. Here's a link. Thanks again, David G.
  7. Spectacular! Your interior detail is excellent. David G.
  8. I've been working on restoring my photos that were lost in the Great Photo Bucket Debacle of 2017. Here is my most recently repaired thread. David G.

  11. It's a fun kit. I built mine as a PA daily driver with snow tires and road grit. I still have one left in my stash, and I'm thinking Ohio Highway Patrol or US military staff car. Can't wait to see what you do with yours. David G.
