  1. This is the Bat-Pod by Moebius Models. It's a rather simple kit, not much more work than building a fairly detailed engine for a scale automobile. For those who may be interested, here is a link to the build thread I added a set of cables to the hand grips- brake, throttle, whatever. I mean it's a Bat-Pod so who knows what they are. The tires have been appropriately weathered with earth tone pastels. I also put a bit of red wire under the engine shroud. Some of the images I found during my research showed a similar feature so I popped one in there. Additionally, I placed a cable running from under the shroud, along the frame and attaching to the rear wheel. Again, based on research. This is easily one of the most fragile kits I've ever built. Every time I pick it up I feel like I'm cradling a soap bubble in my finger tips. As always, thanks for taking the time look and please always feel free to comment. David G.
  2. Thanks on both accounts. It's nice to know that someone is paying attention. David G.
  3. Beautiful work as always Geoff! David G.
  4. Amazing work! I'm very interested in seeing how all this will be brought together in the end. David G.
  5. I have mounted the "handlebars". This completes the construction of the basic kit. But I'm sure you know I'm not going to stop here. I plan to add a few extra details and do a bit more weathering just for the sake visual interest. As always, thanks for taking the time t look and please always feel free to comment. David G.
  6. It's a great looking car, good color choice and a well done conversion. I've seen your work many times on this forum and I'm always favorably impressed. I would like to make one suggestion though. If you have access to photo editing software, you may want to try cropping your photos a little closer to the car. This way you can show less of the background and a closer view of your model allowing for more of the detail work to be seen. If you don't have access to photo editing software or are unable to otherwise edit you photos, that's okay, it's just a suggestion. I do enjoy the photos you post and I appreciate you taking the time to share them with us. Best Regards, David G.
  7. Excellent color choice! David G.
  8. If you're ever in the mood for a quick build, this Bat-Pod would be a great choice. I now have all the sub-assemblies assembled. Next up is building and attaching the handle bar units and then some weathering and detailing. As always, thanks for taking the time to look. David G.
  9. Thanks Carl! Your post also reminded me that I hadn't posted my traditional Display Case Shot. So here it is! Thanks again. David G.
  10. This is finished and there is a new thread in the All The Rest section. Here's the link. Thanks to everyone who took the time to look and especially those who offered their support, advice and encouragement. David G.
  11. Thanks Dave. I should have more to post soon. David G.
  12. The Bat-Pod from "The Dark Knight" movie by Moebius Models. It's a rather simple kit, not much more work than building a fairly detailed engine for a scale automobile. Painting and building these three sub-assemblies took me about six hours. This should be a rather quick build. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to leave a comment. David G.
  13. Nicely Done! Love the color, solid looking build. David G.
  14. Thank you Si, I'm glad to know that you like it. David G.
  15. Very cool! The paint chipping and lighting effects nice. Well done! David G.
  16. Cool little bits of history, nicely done. Now that's what I call optimism: "It's gonna rain... It's gonna rain... and when it does... I'll be ready!" David G.
  17. Fantastic Work! I love all the little details you added. Your weathering is great especially the tires. So many times I see a supposed barn find, junker or dirt track racer with tires that look like they were mounted just minutes before the photo was taken. David G.
  18. Nicely Done! I can't imagine working with rigging on that scale. Some of the 1:25 details are a bit challenging for me. When I saw your plane on top of the Pontiac, I also immediately thought it would make a good RC plane for a 1:25 diorama. David G.
  19. Very cool! I like the prototypical construction style. David G.
  20. Looks great so far! David G.
  21. This is my version of the Moebius Models Tumbler from the movie Batman Begins. I bought this kit about seven years ago and I just now got around to building it. Due to the nature of the vehicle the kit has some unusual assembly engineering. The interior is rather well detailed but unless you plan to modify the model to allow for an opening canopy or light the interior in some way, most of the interior won't be visible after the model is completed. Had I known this, I would not have put as much effort into detailing the interior as I did. For those who may be interested, here is a link to the Build Thread. The air boxes just ahead of the rear wheels had a yucky looking mesh casting which I cut out and replaced with some old speaker cloth. Lighting this vehicle for photos was a little bit of a challenge. Being a "creature of the night", shooting it in daylight conditions just didn't seem to work. So I tried a darker backdrop and lighting that was a bit less direct. I wanted details to be visible while having contrasting shadows. I wanted lighting that was more dramatic than usual. I think I managed to pull it off well enough. Thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to leave a comment. David G.
  22. Beautiful Work! It could easily be mistaken for the real thing. David G.
  23. That's a lot of work for a day's progress. All of it looks great too. David G.
  24. Excellent Score! Looks like a lot of fun for some time to come. David G.
