  1. What a beautiful build!
  2. We'll see how it fits once I actually start assembly.
  3. Got a little bit of polishing done for the roof and hood. Still need to polish the sides. Polishing always (well, nearly always) makes me nervous - as I've burned through the paint before. But so far, so good. Not as incredible as many of the builds I see on this board. There is still some orange peel here and there, but I'm hesitant to go too far. Typically (for me) messy workbench: I plan to mask and paint the rubber trim once I finish polishing. Cowl panel should be black and not red. I also plan to replicate a spray-in bed liner for the bed:
  4. Always great to see one of these built. Very nice work on a picky kit.
  5. Sprayed some clear and here we are. Of course, some polishing will need to be done. The phone camera makes the metallic look much larger than it appears in person. For some comparison, I used TS-95 Pure Metallic Red over Tamiya Pink Primer for the Miata and TS-95 over Tamiya Red Oxide Primer for the Silverado. The TS-95, in spite of having a metallic content, is somewhat translucent and the underlying color will affect the final color. At least in my experience. Phone camera does funky stuff with metallic paint sometimes.
  6. Second coat of paint. While it cures out, I'll start working on all the other parts. (hopefully!)
  7. Wow, this is really sweet! Where did you source the flames? Or did you make those yourself? I really like it.
  8. Thank you. Tamiya TS=95 Pure Red Metallic over their Red Oxide primer.
  9. Many thanks to @Casey for his tremendous help. This is the Revell Amigo Pack Kevin VanDam boxing. Just shot some paint on it today during a break between other projects.
  10. Nicely built! Great photography, too!
  11. Some interesting stuff of late. I'd like to grab that MR2 (reissue, right?) and the Supra. I've picked up the recently tooled RX-7 SACC (First generation). In the box it looks like a great kit. I hope they release an FB version (the last few years of the first generation). This most recent version ("Late Version") has the correct lower front valance, so I'm holding out hope. My goal is to build this, just need the later (RHD, Updated) interior:
  12. Wow! Thank you for letting me know. I figured something must be going on; and I certainly wasn't trying to stir anything. I wish him the best. Thank you for the message, too.
  13. I've sent a PM to @gluhead and also to @gui_tarzan; hopefully I'll hear something soon.
  14. Thank you. I was wondering if perhaps something could be going on health-wise. I do have some of his stuff that I got from his eBay store a couple of years ago, and it is definitely good stuff. I hope everything is ok; I would appreciate some sort of confirmation of course.
  15. I do not normally go to the web and blast anyone, especially someone who in the past has provided really nice service and parts. So, I'm hoping someone here might know how to get in touch with Olson Brothers - other than sales@resincastmodelparts.com. I have emailed several times and received no reply. I have also tried to reach out via his Facebook page and got the following auto reply: Hi, thanks for contacting us. We've received your message and appreciate you reaching out. Unfortunately I rarely get to check messages here. Please contact me directly at sales@resincastmodelparts.com. Have a great day and hope to hear from you soon. I placed an order with them in very early July via their website - www.resincastmodelparts.com. I got a message that my order had been received, and I then got a message that my order was processing. Since then, I've not received any additional information. I've tried reaching out several times via sales@resincastmodelparts.com and I've logged into the customer portion of the website and tried to get an answer. So far, zero replies. Does anybody know what's going on? I know this is a small, cottage industry; and I get that things do happen. But some sort of reply or confirmation would be appreciated.
  16. That's the real car, right? Now, show us the model you built. Beautiful work!
  17. Oh wow! This is great work. My grandfather had a 1984 Fleetwood Brougham. I drove it a few years to "keep the miles off of your truck." What a boat! I loved it - once you got out of the parking lot, you were halfway to your destination.
  18. Sweet work! Really enjoy the commentary and pointers, too!
  19. Here's a link to all the goodies. https://www.fireballmodels.info/ His products are impressive and his service is outstanding.
  20. Holy Smokes!!! That's a real car, right? Amazing work.
  21. Easily among the best builds of this kit. Nice work!
  22. You might be surprised at just how bright a red will be if you shoot it over their pink primer.
