High octane

Merry Christmas to all of you and your families, and may the New Year bring you joy. While the Christmas holidays are a joyous time of the year for a lot of folks, for some people there is little or no joy. Think about it, how about the homeless, the lonely people like ones who recently lost their mate or a family member, the isolated people, people who are poor, hungry, or living with no utilities at home, or the sick, the incarcerated people, people in the hospitals, or people living in nursing homes or homes for seniors with no one to visit them, and the list goes on. We should always be thankful for what we have as others are not so fortunate.

This is my rarest built kit. An MPC '69 Dodge Coronet R/T that I had built in the early 70's for a model car contest. I used AMT Candy Lacquers, thread for spark plug wires, and parts from the JoHan Sox & Martin Pro Stock 'Cuda kit.

Nice lookin' Mack as I had built one back in the early 80's (?). Kinda makes me wonder why I didn't stay with truck building, other than their size.

50 grand a year just for showing up, yeah right. Just like the employees at McDonalds want $15 per hour and they can't even put the filet 'o fish in the center of the bun. Where I worked, if a person didn't make any progess in the first three or four days, they were "history."

Yes it is as I've noticed that for years, and a lot of people don't know that a person's name starts with a capital letter either. And of course looking up the spelling of a word with spell-check or even a dictionary is totally out of the question.

Install your own "dragon's head" like I did when I built this rail. I was inspired by seeing "The Beast from the East" racing back in the mid-60's.

I have used Kustom Khrome a few times with great results. I plan on using them again in the future.

Have you checked the Demon body and parts from Bandit Resins?

I'd had parts plated several times from a couple different platers and I never had to mount my parts.

$350 is a lot of MOOLAH for a kit. Might as well look for one in 1:1 scale, except that I prefer B -Body Mopars.

That's why I have my fuel filter on my cruiser changed every year.

Looks like I'll be spending a lot of time indoors this winter.

I find enough stuff to do around here by myself without the help of my wife, and it seems like I get more done that way also.

I start kits with the intention of finishing them. Over the years it's worked out well for me, however I do have 'bout 9 or 10 started and I need to start finishing some of them. Of course I'm always thinkin' 'bout starting a few more??? Over the past couple of years I've been "thinnin' out the herd" as there's NO way I'm gonna finish all the kits in my stash.

Very nice build on that surf woody, but I didn't see any of those on the shores of Maui back in October.

Yes, a lot colder than I like it, and if it were up to me I'd be stayin' south during the months of Dec., Jan., and Feb. But it's not up to me. Stay warm also Big Trucker.

My retirement has been very busy for the last 11 years and maybe (?) i get bored three days out of the year. Sometimes I think that I should (NOT) get a job so that I can rest. With taking care of the lawn, the snow shoveling, cooking sometimes, working on my models sometimes, belong to and attend club meetings to two model car clubs, goin' to the drag strip at least once a year, going to car shows & cruise nights 40+ times a year, playing with my grandson, and traveling with my better half at least once a year also keeps me busy. Oh and I also do windows too.

No they're not as I remember 'bout 1979-1980 driving home from Buffalo in a rain/snow(?) storm and following a tractor/trailer for many miles to guide me through. When the semi turned off, I was on my own with the family in the car also. Tough ride.

This has been gone over many times, and when I have to paint over a colored plastic body I spray Tamiya Leaf Silver on the plastic, followed by Tamiya White Primer, and then my color and clear coats of whatever brand of paint I wish to use. I have not experienced any bleed through using this method and it works for me. I only use gray primer if I'm painting the car silver or black, otherwise I use white primer.
