  1. As I was running errands last Saturday, I came across a small car show at the Schaumburg Illinois Fuddruckers. The cars were still flling in but I was able to catch some photos. Although not large, there were some unique vehicles there. Link to the Flickr Album
  2. Matt, I am 2,000 miles away from the stash right now as we finish emptying out the old house and turn over to the realtor. We'll be at the new home in about 2 weeks. I have the following kits that moved (sorry for the rough pix but they were for insurance purposes if the mover lost or damaged them). I think both kits came with the OHC 6. I don't know if I raided one or both. I will have to check when I get home. If the engine is there, it is yours for the asking. I will let you know after I get back. I have a couple of other requests pending my return as well.
  3. The Firebird Sprint used an Overhead Cam 6 that can be acquired in the above mentioned kits or Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland sold one as well (need to check with Norm if still available). I built mine using the Revell Firebird. I converted the racing hood to a flat hood by filling it in. I also got a Model Car Garage 68 Firebird PE set that has the correct script. I did quite a bit of work to enhance the interior. I used a decal sheet from a second kit to create the side stripes without the HO designation. Then you also need to make it a single exhaust.
  4. Raffle score from yesterday's GTR NNL in Crystal Lake IL. Bought $5 worth of tickets and got 4 out 6 hits. All sealed except the Indy Car kit which is sealed inside and has all parts.
  5. I know. I'm 2000 miles away from the stash right now, so can't do a check. But SABA club has a Shop Truck theme for December meeting and thinking something along those lines. Have to see
  6. I was thinking the 50 Chevy pickup with a LS engine as well. EIther that or adapt the 39 Wagonrod chassis
  7. Not sure I understand the 1-1/8 inch hole? Sounds like you want to drill smaller? Disregarding the above, I have found when I want to drill a hole "pattern", I will Sketch the pattern on my computer and print to an address label which I will apply to the stock. I will then affix the thin stock (in my case more often Evergreen plastic but the concept is the same) on a sacrificial backing that is not too resilient. Normally I will use thin plywood. I will then drill the pattern. Drilling through the part into the backing provides a cleaner hole, since the drill bit digs into the backer and continues into it.
  8. You know, I plain forgot there were Monogram and Revell versions. Thanks for the correction
  9. I believe the old Revell 56 is 1/24 scale and the Foose is 1/25. The real vehicle had no changes in wheelbase, so, if both kits are accurate ( FOose's was supposedly scanned off the real deal) then fitting it to the 56 is problematic.
  10. If you want to "oomph it up" a bit more, C1 models offers a restomod kit http://www.c1-models.com/resin/restomod-pontiac-firebird
  11. And side marker lights. Rally sport option is close, but there are some differences. Non Rally Sport has signal lamp differences as noted. Rear tail lights have differences as well. There are also interior differences.
  12. And I forgot all about the parts pack engines:
  13. 49 Mercury kit has/had a piston assembly for a trophy
  14. 58 Chevy kit has a crankshaft. If I recollect correctly, there was a piston assembly as part of a trophy in a kit
  15. Not Jeff, but the engine parts look like the Small Block Chevy such as was in the 66 Nova kit that you could mount on an engine stand. The crank and piston look like extra pieces that used to be included in the AMT kits of the 60's. I believe a camshaft was also in some. Additionally, Detail did a set of gaskets. In the past, RandD Unique did spark plugs, as does RB Motion now.
  16. I certainly wasn't missing an '83. The only good things about C4's was the ZL1 and the somewhat improved suspension
  17. Someone did sell a resin manual transaxle conversion. I bought a couple. But I can't remember who did it or even if they are still in business. I do believe the C6 does have a manual, but am 2,000 miles from home (and the stash) at the moment to confirm
  18. Thanks, forgot about that. Away from home and all my reference material. Personally, I think the kit custom parts look nice just by themselves. Only matters if you are trying to replicate the actual car. If I remember correctly, it was actually in two movies with different color schemes, one all white and the second the red/white scheme
  19. If you're going for accuracy on the Villa Riviera, the AMT kit is not exact. The tail lights are incorrect and the hood needs strips.
  20. I've had that site bookmarked for years. Lots of info. There also was a site that is now gone that actually had owners' manuals on it that you could download in PDF. But, they dropped out about 4-5 years ago. Another useful site is Eurospares for details, but can be vague on older models.
  21. As I said, I'll have to "grok" it when I get back home at the end of the month. I have a 250 chassis/engine bay from the old AMT kit that I was keeping for just such an occasion. I'll need to lay it out and see where it goes. Will post more when I get there
  22. True. But the wheel wells go straight up and need addressing. And, there also is potential hood thickness to deal with as well. I will look at more closely when I get back home
