  1. Evercoat is the superior of the two, but if you're like me, and only use a small amount before it goes bad, it isn't worth it. I usually get Bondo two-part because it's cheaper. While you're there, get a tube of Bondo spot putty. Once you've got the body work done and shoot that first coat of primer, you'll probably find a few scratches or sand marks you missed. Spot putty works great for that.
  2. Greg, how's it going? Do you have a list of your currently available production? I'm looking for a new project to start and not finish! LOL
  3. If you haven't already saved all your photos from PB, I urge you to do it. I only had a few on there that I didn't already have on my computer, but the few that I did I have gotten back. Rather than mess with it, I just used the Snipping Tool on my computer to copy them and transfer them back to my files. By the way, we are not the only ones that PB is messing with. There are articles all over the interwebbs about them today. It seems they have been the storage site of choice for eBay and Amazon sellers and a lot of them make big money and are raising a rather large stink about this as well. PB may be trying to keep in business or they may be trying to pull a Shkreli and screw people over just because they think they can, but they've messed up .
  4. Hasn't happened to me yet. Are they charging based on the amount of pictures you have on there? I only have about 25 pictures on their site and have never been impressed with the setup. Anytime I go, my computer seems to slow down almost to the point that it reminds me of dial up. I'll either switch over to something else, or simply quit posting pictures. Same thing with Facebook. If they ever start charging, I'll simply quit using it. It's not a lifestyle, it's a convenience and a convenience I could easily do without.
  5. There comes an end to every story. I really liked this car, it did everything I asked of it and it ran like a champ. Not quite a year after I got it, I was stopping at a light and the person behind me didn't notice. She had good insurance and they paid of promptly. With that, I bought this: It's a 2008 Volvo V50 which my wife has named Olaf. Good condition and low mileage. I'll miss my Saab, but at least I wasn't hurt.
  6. It looks really nice. I saw two of these at our Walmart the other day and decided to wait. Came back later in the day and they were gone. I did get the Motor Max 1969 F 100 there today. Walmart generally has horrible selections when it comes to diecasts, usually only a few Corvettes if anything.
  7. I love it! I'm going to be getting back on mine soon. It's been one thing after another lately.
  8. I can't imagine that we will see any new boats anytime soon, but I would love to have a few. I built model boats for a few years for a display company, so I can still build any boat I need if I could ever get the attention span to do it.
  9. Does he do direct sales on eBay? Anyone know what his seller name is?
  10. I like it! I remember a lot of my friends and I had these as our beater high school cars. I wonder how one of these would look as a pro touring/NASCAR for the street type of thing?
  11. It looks good in grey. I've always wanted a real one, but not in red. Maybe in Fly Yellow, or something like B5 Blue.
  12. I would use a really thin decal for the separations or a fine tip marker if you have a steady hand! As far as the tail lights, you could try some Tamiya smoke in the bottle. Maybe using a fine paint brush, dipping it in and letting it flow over the them.
  13. If you're careful, you might not have to lose the emblems. Also do you have sanding sticks to take down the mold seams? They are widely available and come in everything from coarse to super fine polishing ones. I always use Dupli Color sandable primers straight out of the can for my cars as it seems to work under even the hottest paints. It does go on pretty thick though. You might consider taking some of your better original builds and just cleaning them up. Sometimes it's fun to look back and compare old builds with new ones.
  14. Looks pretty nice to me. Those are sweet engines. It looks like it would be fun on a road course as well. No matter what, it beats some dude putting a small block Chevy in it!
  15. Ken Block's 65 Mustang drift car might be a good inspiration. There are lots of detail pictures on the net. http://www.hotrod.com/articles/ken-blocks-gymkhana-seven-mustang/
  16. I've recently been collecting Monogram's curbside 911s. Also I just bought Revells old 3.0 RS kit at the LHS.
  17. You're doing good work! I love it.
  18. I generally prefer 1/25th to 1/24th, but if it's a kit I really want, I won't let the difference stop me. I think it has more to do with the fact that I preferred MPC kits to Monogram kits when I was young rather than the actual scale. However if it's 1/32nd or 1/20th, no. As for Mustangs, I would think a notchback would be a pretty easy add for them. It would take a new body and interior tub, but it would give them a new kit to release for less than a completely new tool. I really would love to see a notchback '68, '69 and '70.
  19. Remember a few months ago how the lost and crushed Bullitt Mustang was found in Mexico? I keep hoping that someday all those lost and crushed model car molds will be found and brought back. A guys gotta dream, right?
  20. I love this stuff, but be careful using it. My dad used it to clean the bottom of his car after an oil leak. He sprayed it on and scrubbed it off without gloves or mask for an hour or so till everything was clean. He didn't think about the mist getting on him. For about 3 days he was so swollen, it looked like he had been stung by bees on his hands and face.
  21. I can vouch for this. My uncle was a small town race car builder in the 60s and 70s. He would build by eye from pictures and by laying down chalk lines on the concrete carport floor. He used materials he could find at the scrap yard or laying around, so tubing and flat stock tended to be larger than used by the professionals.
  22. This is the type of model I hated as a kid, because it was too silly, but would love to have now as a nostalgic old 'kid'!
  23. That looks so nice. I've been checking my LHS and both Hobby's Town and Lobby. They don't have them yet.
  24. I have the Cobra and several of the 53 Fords already, but I'll buy if it encourages them to dig out other old molds and rehab them. The box art looks like a 2 axle trailer. I can use that for something for sure!
  25. I'd like some info on this if you have any to share!
