  1. I'll have to think about this one, but there are a lot I'd like to see backdated to their original release versions. The Dodge van and truck would be great to see again in their early 70s versions. Both the Chevy and the Dodge vans would be great to see with the window van versions. The Firebird I would like to see in the 74-76 version, preferably as a base model car so I could have my Rockford Files Firebird.
  2. Really nice work. I love wagons, I currently have a Subaru wagon and a Volvo wagon, so this is nice to see! I wish they would kit up some new wagon models.
  3. This is so nice, I love this kind of build!
  4. Aswith the Cannonball, I want to participate, but it'll be a couple weeks before I can come up with a proposal if that's okay.
  5. I will want to participate, but it's going to be a week or two before I can come up with a plan, as my wife has her own plans involving me cleaning and decluttering and other unpleasant things.
  6. This may be covered already, but does the inline engine have to be gas? Can it be an inline diesel? Just a possibility.
  7. I'll go through my collection and see what I have.
  8. Sorry, I meant converting the kits to stock
  9. I know it's a way off from you, but is Denbigh Hobby still in Newport News? That used to be a great place to shop!
  10. Have you thought of doing a how-to on converting these back to stock? I would love to see it!
  11. Just for something more current, I'd like to see some of the common street cars released. A Hyundai, Kia, Subaru Outback or Impreza and a Civic either new or re-releases. They could be snap type or easy to build glue kits in stock and with SCCA/club racing options, but it would be cool to also see them done in the exuberant over the top 70s-80s style MPC style, you know "Build it stock, race or custom!" with IMSA-style flares and wide wheels and crazy spoilers and everything. How about a few of the crossovers? A CRV, Ford Escape or a RAV4. Again they could be curbside if necessary to cut tooling expenses, but offer them with optional bigger wheels and tires, off road flares and bumpers. Maybe a roof rack with cargo and offroad lights. We finally got a first gen Bronco that I love and a recent re-release of the first gen Blazer and the Dodge Ramcharger. Now how about a re-release of the Monogram Second gen Bronco and Land Rover and maybe the Italeri Range Rover and Land Rovers?
  12. I like to build the same car in different versions, i.e. a drag version and a stock version. I would love to find conversion kits to make stock versions of the 33 Willys, the 40 Willys and especially the 41 Willys pickup. I haven't come across one, but thought somebody might have a clue on one.
  13. Restoring something that you have had so long is like nursing an old friend back to health!
  14. A lot of these Chinese factories are almost mom and pop. Many US companies job out work to multiple Chinese factories. That could be what happened in this case. Whatever, I have several of the original kit already that I got when Hobby Lobby did a close out. The only way I'll get any more is if they back date it with a built up flathead and a period style transverse rear end.
  15. My guess is that they decided that they needed more downforce and had the yellow with black stripes one leftover from another car and just pop riveted it to the one already on the car. Maybe from the 1966 LeMans #8 car?
  16. Would work for me!
  17. Not too good, but, I'm happy to have finished something this year! My entry, a grandma gold ex-police Chevy Impala. Though it is only the snap kit Revell, the 1:1 car would be fitted with a suite of electronics for evasion and detection, the turbocharged version of GMs 3.8 liter V6 and plenty of lights for night use. If you will notice, the window glass is missing, due to my apparently putting it in a place that I would be sure to know where it was. I have know idea where that place is.
  18. Cool, I'm waiting on one of these from Japan. Come on mail! Are the flares molded in?
  19. Hasegawa or Fujimi made an accurate Ferrari Daytona if I remember right if you want accuracy. This one however is a kit of a kit car, built on a C3 Corvette chassis and running gear to replicate the one used in Miami Vice. They used a fake Ferrari the first seasons because of expense, both to obtain the car and the cost of maintenance for a real Ferrari. Later, Ferrari gave the show a then new white Ferrari Testarossa to use in the show. I guess it bothered them to have a fake representing the company.
  20. Well, it's not completely finished, but I am going to call Granny's Stealth Impala done for now. The idea was to take a Grandma-Gold-colored Bingo Cruiser Impala and go stealth mode. A turbo 3.8 V-6 and a lowered suspension would hopefully allow the crew the power to fly low to the ground. An LED bar is mounted on a police push bar for extra help in night running. A complete array of computers, satellite links and electronic counter surveillance equipment allow the guys to track conditions up ahead. For the last couple weeks I have been searching for some pretty important missing parts, i.e. the window glass, the roof rack with the antenna cluster, and the snack food bags and McDonald's sacks. I've checked everywhere. I'm pretty sure they crawled out of the box and snuck out of the house. I will keep looking and should they decide to show up I'll update, but for the moment I'm ready to move on.
  21. I actually [prefer this body style to the earlier ones. It's looking good!
  22. Where did you find this, in with the regular diecast? I've checked all the HLs in the area and didn't find them. It looks really nice!
  23. I used to build according to the subject rather that the scale, but my OCDish traits mean everything needs to be a common scale now, so 1/24th-1/25th is the only thing that interests me anymore.
  24. It looks like one of those cars stuntmen used to build for movies when the real thing was too expensive or hard to come by! Cool!
  25. Love this. As I get older, I find nostalgia has caused me to see the cars I once ignored with new eyes. Also, as those eyes get a little less sharp, my fingers get a little fatter, and my patience gets less I am growing to appreciate those simpler, fun to build kits.
