  1. You didn’t identify the paint under the clear. It may be the Novis Polish. I’ve never had an issue with Tamiya Clear.
  2. I’ve been a loyal Bank of America customer for over 30 years. Recently they screwed me over big time. I’m not posting it here but I will be leaving them at my first opportunity.
  3. I don’t believe PayPal ever asked for a social security number. They do have my bank account info. Back when I was selling and eBay owned PayPal they made it a requirement that sellers get a PayPal MasterCard.
  4. Very cool! We need a photo spread on it!
  5. I noticed the other day when I paid on eBay with PayPal that it showed the customer as eBay rather than the seller. It showed my payment to the seller as pending. Stupid changes that don’t benefit buyer or seller, only eBay sucking every possible dime out of every transaction.
  6. My wife and I are driving up the highway to our favorite restaurant. We see emergency lights coming the other way, an ambulance trying to get through traffic. We all stop and wait per the law. Light turns red anyway since I believe they are tied into emergency vehicles. Young idiot behind me decides to honk and flail his arms around. Then he sees me looking at him in my rear view window and gives me the finger. Screw him!
  7. I did work for Facebook Labs near Seattle in 2019 and stuff like that was always walking around the halls.
  8. Just waiting for our sponsor to declare the results from this round and kick off the next one! I have a few candidates of ancient projects to choose from!
  9. Canoe is from the 69 Pontiac but modified from Indian bark to aluminum to match canoe on actual truck
  10. I like this project! I’ve been following along at all the modifications and details to build an accurate Ambassador wagon. There are those of us who would do a project like this and get it. Then there are the “not a Hemi” guys who will click on past.
  11. Pretty much the attitude of this board! ? I posted the video because I thought people might enjoy seeing a thousand kit collection sold. Seems the owner probably bought it all at swap meets day the past ten or twenty years. He didn’t have expensive taste to grab those $100 plus early sixties annuals. This lot echos a lot of people’s collections. As I watched I imagined that’s what would happen to my stuff after I’m gone. A bit of an eye opener there!
  12. I've posted different cars at this location before… the ancient mill up the road a little bit from me. You will recognize the Porsche. Last week this pretty Rolls shows up.. this is my favorite Rolls era look and the color scheme is great as well. I didn’t see the torn roof from the road.
  13. Reminds me of a story. Maybe 12 years ago I was driving back to NJ from the NNL in Toledo, Ohio. You pretty much take Route 80 the entire length of Pennsylvania.. 7 hours worth! I passed a green mid 1960s VW bus with Vermont tags on it. As you said, slow lane chugging along at 50 Mph. I stopped at a rest stop for 10 minutes.. got back in road and passed the VW again! Over the length of Pennsylvania, it happened another three times!
  14. That happens to me! You didn’t see it because you’ve been looking at that body too long! Thus everything about it seems normal. I’ve had projects I’ve packed away and pulling them back out after a few years the first thing I see is some blooper I swear I never noticed before.
  15. I was lucky that when I moved from NJ to PA 11 years ago I owned my old house for over a year since my daughter was in her senior year of college. The family remained there and I commuted weekly. Every week I brought a Dodge Grand Caravan full of stuff with me. The built models all got here in the front passenger seat area with no incidents. Note that on my models, things like mirrors and door handles are all wired on with bits of straight pins so I never lose any. I did bring the entire model room, then boxes of glassware and anything else fragile week by week. I lived in the new house with an air bed and we bought new den and kitchen furniture. By the time we employed movers, there wasn’t much!
  16. I don’t believe it’s all that dismal. My father used to day, “Be patient with the common man. If it wasn’t for them, we wouldn’t look so good!” There was a quote from Ancient Greece.. may have been Plato, whining that the days youth was a lost cause and that was 2000 years ago! Just look around. There are sharp people you enjoy knowing. There’s the restaurant you go to because they’re on the ball. There’s the guy you take your car to because he’s both honest and good at what he does. We wouldn’t have several Coronavirus vaccines or two companies competing with space flights if everyone was an incompetent dolt. But incompetence or laziness is a way of life. We all know that modeler who builds sloppy models but whines that he should get trophies too! No doubt he’s that same way at work! He will never get it, he’s just wired differently.
  17. Wow Dan! Didn’t realize but it makes sense that he’s 80! He was pretty much reciting the lyrics than singing. Too bad our heros can’t be granted eternity! The other act that was pretty poor was Black Eyed Peas. They tried to do “I’ve Gotta Feeling”. Without Fergie. Their lame female vocalist didn’t even try the Fergie solos.
  18. Very nice! I love both your projects. Now with that said, do I get some liquid refreshment??
  19. Depends on if the have the tooling. Note we haven’t seen this kit since before Playing Mantis era. If it’s sitting there with say.. a cracked Sweathog. Body…. ?
  20. Very nice! The body is tooled very well and is more proportional than a lot of other kits. It would be a good choice to open the hood for a full detail model.
  21. The Beach Boys were on the July 4th show last night and I hate to say they’ve really lost it. The lead singer lost his singing voice, it was sad. I would have much rather listened to the old recordings!
  22. I think that this all opens up a world of possibilities. They’ve already covered all the low hanging fruit.. those kits that were easily put back into service and are further down in the pile to promising kits that need a lot more work. They have taken on the equity partner to provide moneys for projects, so the time has never been better. My own minor little wish is that they complete the run of Chevy pickup kits with a 1958 and 1959. Easy to do since the interior is the same as the 55-57s already done. All they’d need to tool is the body, hood, grille and emblems. And even easier is a 1956, which would be nothing more than the side and hood badges. I have a Modelhaus set of those here somewhere. Theyve already fixed the cab vent windows. My only peeve with the kit is that the floor needs a modification to fill out the cab bottom and have the step down at the doors. Right now you can see up inside the doors. I’d even volunteer to provide a modified sample!
