  1. Last week I got notice that an eBay package was coming UPS that day. I see the UPS truck at the curb. He was there an unusually long time so I walked out there. The guy sees me and admits he should have a package for me, but it isn’t in the truck! I figure I’ll get it the next day but later on it was near my garage door.
  2. Phil is that 49 a Mercury? Note the front directional on the fender.
  3. How many times and in different threads must we warn people.. Hobby Lobby will substitute any random kit if the item you request is out of stock!
  4. For those in Europe, the EU Authorities do a much better job than the US in protecting the residents and the environment from nasty chemicals. Thus when you can even find the same trade products as available in the US, yours will be formulated differently. I found that out when attempting to align maintenance practices and storeroom inventories between the USA and European plants.
  5. Understand something.. there are people who work hard and make a lot of money. That $400 is like $4 or $40 to you. It’s not worth their time to shop around because the $400 won’t be missed.
  6. It’s interesting to watch history being made. The Wright Brothers flight was in December 1903 and by 1914 there were the first passenger flights. It went that fast in those times, just think how fast they’ll get it done today!
  7. About a month ago I had a pair of carbs molded together to fit on a specific manifold. I needed them separated to use on a different one… my last 53 Ford pickup project. As I was cutting them apart, one went flying up over my shoulder and towards my trash pail! Of course it was near full. And from past experience small parts wind up going all the way to the bottom. Argh! So yesterday was finally the day to go fishing! I dumped the pail (actually an old cardboard beer 30 can box) into my garden cart. Then I spent probably a half hour picking through and putting everything into a trash bag. Got through it all and guess what? No carb! I did use different carbs on my project so I don’t have a pressing need, but it still ticks me off! I know it’s somewhere in the model room and will show up someday!
  8. Yes. It’s odd though.. you pay eBay and then they pay the seller.
  9. Bump! This is a great model!
  10. Just be sure they are modern asphalt and not old asbestos roofing!
  11. Agreed! I did a chopped 34 that I painstakingly created an interior.. made the door panels, narrowed and shortened the seat and fit a 57 Chevy dash into it… nope! You cannot see it at all! ?
  12. That is really nice! We need a photo spread on the truck and load!
  13. I would take it as a challenge! The wider dash has a flat face. Find a photo of it online somewhere and print to size!
  14. I’ve had that chassis out of the box and have held it under early Ford bodies. I’m thinking a 40 Ford sedan delivery with this chassis and drivetrain. The recent Dodge D50 (Mitsubishi) and Datsun pickup running gear is nicely done and also fits nicely under the oldies!
  15. Amen! I find the set up in my Pace booth more than acceptable. I originally was concerned because I mainly use spray cans. People who actually own the booths assured me it was fine. Here’s the specs right from their website. The 24” units both use the same setup. The 36” unit has a 265 CFM fan. What drives me crazy in these threads is the people who don’t own the unit and probably never even saw one in person giving disparaging advice.
  16. I’m jealous! I’ve been looking for a decent Chopper for years! This is me on Christmas Day 1969 with my new Chopper. This orange one got stolen and I replaced it with a yellow one. My sister got a red girls model. They were stored in my fathers garage. I was severely upset when I found out he gave them away! I definitely wanted to keep it! There is a big restoration following for these today. You can get nearly anything including the decals and new seats. The chain guard is easy to find.
  17. Super! I have a series of the old Monogram Model As going and this would fit right into my line up!
  18. Amen! I innocently started this disaster because I thought people might like to see a 1000 kit collection. Silly me!
  19. The question is.. how were you posting pix before and when was the last time you did? I just looked at your last post with photos.. appear to be externally hosted on some ibex.com? The software changed did something to the code for external images. I could still bring up your photos by tapping in the white space. The current preferring way is to send the pix to the board directly from your device and let this site host them. Just look under the text input box for “add files” and go from there…
