  1. OP is Original Poster.. the guy who started the thread!
  2. Back to 8 Tracks.. in the early 1980s I worked in a department where they had an ancient 8 Track deck and speakers snaked everywhere. They had a large collection of donated tapes that played low as background music. It was rather pleasant. When I’d go to garage sales and I’d see interesting tapes for sale at a dollar or so I’d grab them and add them to the collection. Then one day there was dead air! The 8 track had died! Everyone was bummed!
  3. Wow! I love the 32 Ford parts lot! I may have that much, bought as parts or started kits at shows for $5-10 each.
  4. There are as many answers as there are people!
  5. Last week we took the grandkids to the Point Pleasant Boardwalk at the Jersey Shore. Everyone was getting ice cream but me and I noticed the next stand over had pretzels… I saw $1.99 so I thought I’d like one. Then I discovered a pretzel was $8… the $1.99 was the toppings! No thanks!
  6. Wednesday my daughter called to say she was awarded a trip for 2 to Hawaii from her company. ? Yesterday Hawaii announced Covid restrictions.? Today her company canceled the trip! ??
  7. Cool! I have a built up to restore. Back in the day my father had a 71 BelAir four door sedan in light green. 350 but he had a big carb and dual exhaust on it.
  8. Same kits.. pretty much what’s on the market right now. What’s different is that at my local HL is that they’ll move around the kits to fill holes and make the shelves appear full.. even if only one kit deep.
  9. Agreed! Look at a manufacturer like Round 2.. no doubt they make a lot more on diecast than on model car kits. Just look at limited sales outlets for kits where diecasts are sold everywhere.
  10. If he took apart the diecast and was building a model out of it, then indeed itza model. Moderators take notice!
  11. What am I missing here? OP grabbed up his toys and went home? Why? Responses look fine.
  12. And some of those bidders complain that you are a friend of the seller, boosting up their end price! ?
  13. We all know the origin of this kit.. as a promotional model tooled up in 1958. It’s simplicity, odd fit and body thickness are all remnants of the norms and technical shortcomings of injection molding back in the day. It’s utterly amazing that through the last 63 years this tooling somehow survived so we can enjoy it today!
  14. I love restoring old junkers! I think about what the reaction would be if the original kid saw it! Great job, it was fun riding along!
  15. I like the opera windows into the bed and the roll down back window!
  16. Here’s something I posted on my stamp collecting board. It illustrates why you shouldn’t bid until the last few seconds. Imagine you are bidding on a great old kit and this guy is nibbling at you $1 a bid…
  17. Looks great! Love the color scheme! I do own all the Moebius Ford pickups, but have yet to start one!
  18. The Monogram kit? I had a stalled project, then I was working on the Falcon Modified Stocker and couldn’t stand that kit’s chassis, so I put the one from this Mustang under it. I recently bought a replacement kit at HL.. 40 off of course.
  19. Nice work! Welcome!
  20. Interesting that when that box art was created AMT didn’t have a 55-57 Chevy Pickup.. they could do that set with the Willys too! Even though I have an original nice built up, I did buy a Nova wagon recently, pretty much out of curiosity. Yesterday I was digging in the model room for something and found a MCW copy of that six! Yes!
