  1. That’s pretty cool! Nice job!
  2. Here’s mine.. note the hard ducting. I had a piece of plastic board i cut to fit. I even had to buy a hole saw! I set the board in place and wedged it in with the lowered window. I used weatherstripping at the top for a seal. It does incapacitate the window, but that’s fine for me. Looking at your setup, see if your upper window lowers down. You could go straight across, fit a board in there and fix the upper pane in place with two screws (one on either side) in the jamb. That way your lower window can still open a bit. That would give you the shortest duct to outdoors. Yea I spent a few dollars but worth every penny. You will use it forever. For depth.. note I have it sitting back with poster board base sticking out. You can work ahead of the side shields. The fan sucks your spray inward to the filter. Filter wise. The pleated one they gave you is right. After all it’s what the manufacturer uses. They do sell them on the website. I found that the 12x24 is an odd size for HVAC use so the big box stores don’t have them. I didn’t find any at Walmart or Lowe’s. Home Depot only sold expensive ones in this size. In this case eBay is your friend. I found a dealer who sold pleated ones cheap. They showed up in three days! I bought a case of six. The Pace unit is a wonderful tool. I’ve kicked myself for not buying one sooner! Any questions etc. PM me. Here’s the filters I bought: The seller is dwbuy11 End cost was $4.29 a filter
  3. And this is what it looks like! Black body is diecast and fenders were black plastic.. shiny, may have had a clear coat on lt. I painted it Duplicolor red primer and Duplicolor Cherry Red. Same red as my Studebaker Gullwing, the can was on the bench!
  4. Ordered pizza from our favorite place tonight.. Rocco’s… Sicilian Special! And yes I went and picked it up! ?
  5. That’s why you don’t do mail order with Hobby Lobby! Out of stock? They substitute another similar kit.. no understanding of our market. Ordered puzzles, they sent you puzzles!
  6. Ticking off the neighbors again!?
  7. That is very cool, especially the ingenious way you worked in an upper shelf!
  8. https://www.acme.com/licensemaker/ Here’s my “go to” site for plates. You get to pick your own plate numbers or personal plates. They have Canadian provinces. You save their images to your computer. You scale them down to .24 of original size to print the correct size for model cars. Forget decals… you want your plates on thick paper. I print mine on 60 lb bond and white glue in place. When I want something different.. commercial, emergency or taxi tags I go to eBay for images. Some sellers have scanned excellent images. Again, you can scale them to the size you need.
  9. The hobby needs more Coke decals! ?
  10. I drill and pin everything with straight pins. If you drill your holes tight, you can pretty much dry fit everything. I don’t like to attach steering wheel permanently until interior is completely assembled to assure proper position of wheel in relation to the seat etc
  11. It looks like 1980s resin. That’s what a lot of early pieces looked like.
  12. Pace Peacemaker 24” spray booth. I have it hard vented out the window. I use it with lacquer spray cans, no complaints.
  13. I was sitting there in my model room minding my own business, looking at my current project when a squirrel ? darted across the room! So I pulled it down from the pile and started to fiddle. It’s a Welly diecast kit of a 36 Ford Cabriolet. Factory finish is gloss black, actually done fairly well. Many years ago I had this vision of the black body with deep red fenders… and now I know what that looks like! Onward!
  14. You sound like my father! He used to say, “if you’re too lazy to cook it, you can at least get off your tail and pick it up!”
  15. I've thought about this topic a lot over the past few years. I've watched people retire over the years and sell off their collections. Some moved to smaller quarters, others just sold out of that same reason you gave, to dispose of it so the family won't have to deal with it later. I'm 62 and am hopefully looking at a long retirement. For the folks who sold off everything... now what? Are you going to sit around and watch daytime TV with the wife? I'm hoping to spend my time building a lot of models! I got a free preview of retirement the past year or so with Covid, and ya know what? I got more models done than at any other time in my life! So I think model building will be a major part of my retirement. Why would I sell everything? What I have done is that I stopped saving things for the future. I have kits, decals, after market parts etc that I had tucked away for some future killer project. I've decided that the time is now! So I dig into those precious supplies and enjoy using them on a model. I found I had a dozen 1950 Ford pickup kits... so I dumped all the unsealed ones into a big tub. I enjoy building that kit and now I can experiment without worrying about destroying a part. I have many of each part. And if I want a part for something I am building, I don't hesitate taking it out of a new kit on my shelf. I will put a note in the box, "took carb and wheels", but having that part on my new project sure beats the $10 sale someday! The end game? Someday I will die. There may be a time when my health deteriorates and I can no longer work at this hobby. That's when I will sell it off. But I'm hoping that I can enjoy the collection I've built over my lifetime for the rest of my days. And when I go to the big junkyard in the sky, my wife has the names of a few trusted friends and dealers. So David, everyone must decide what's best for themselves. I just wanted to share my perspective. I trust you will choose wisely.
  16. 500G is 1.1 pounds @ $3 a dump…
  17. It’s a known fact that the FDA has allowable limits of insect larva and rodent feces in your food stuff. So it’s a part of your diet.
  18. David, there are swap meets up your way where you could set up a table and undersell the regular dealers. At end of show offer the remains to the dealers. contact Joe Felber or John Papp for details in the action in your area
  19. The new Coke truck is coming! ?
  20. That’s pretty cool! I love the whole shaped like a brick… or a piggy bank look!
