Amen brother! I know exactly what you mean. I'm 6'3"-6'4" and I typically have to squeeze into a 4-door as is (being tall&fat doesn't help). Right now I've got a Malibu, but I miss my GM A-Bodies.
I use CA for most assembly, Testor's clear parts adhesive for glass/headlights and used it to attach PE parts. I'll use Testor's liquid adhesive for parts that are going to take more stress.
Picked up a Tamiya Porsche Carrera GT for cheap as parts. It's pretty complete, the only thing that's missing that I can't easily get around is the engine cover. Might try to scratchbuild one.
Clear epoxy works well to cast lenses. I've drilled out molded in units and used the googly eyes for backs, then put in cast lenses made from epoxy and they look great.
Got in a pre-built Shelby GT-350R from Ebay. It needs a little TLC, but I think I'm just gonna clean it up a little and replace the missing pieces and display it as is.
I actually passed one of these on the road a couple of days ago. It had apparently pulled out of the local Chrysler dealership. It was rough, like someone had just gotten it running again.
