  1. Welcome! I myself am a displaced Hoosier.
  2. Right!? I have seen them in every single Michaels I have been in around the Phoenix valley.
  3. Fantastic weathering, would love to be a fly on the wall to watch you work that detail. Did you happen to film it? ?
  4. Well looky there!! More amazing kit corrections, when they always catch flack for only re-pops. I personally love what they have done for old kits, tampo tires, correct/replacement of missing parts etc etc. Great news!
  5. Amazing, and yes, having a family member get them makes it that much more special.
  6. Your work looks great. I do not mind multi piece bodies, and in fact a lot of modern cars because of all the deep cuts etc., must be molded that way, but to your point it is about the engineering. Think Palmer vs this kit. If it is done well, it should not create too much and an issue, and may actually allow for more detail,
  7. I had never heard of them, but I am not sure what the flexing would do either. Now, if it could be curved, and holds its' shape, then maybe that would be different. My concern is that the flexing would cause it to go in an unplanned direction. Also, the cost seems very high
  8. Very cool unusual subject.
  9. There are several really nice "how to's" described here, and if you couple those with either MCG radiator face, or the one from KA Models 1/24 Photo-etched Radiator Face, you have a real winner.
  10. Cool, are you going to just leave on the mask and mist around the edges?
  11. Very cool ride, I like your work on the headers/motor.
  12. That is great.
  13. Good looking model!
  14. Very impressive. This is one of those projects where I would not even have an idea where to begin from a chassis/suspension point of view.
  15. In addition to the Metalizers (my favorite and I stocked up as much as I could when I heard they were going away), Alclad and TrueMetal mentioned above, I also use metal pigment that can be rubbed on to great effect. Mig Ammo has a set, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-167yisPDIs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJR5Dm17pH4 Vellejo also offers an airbrush metal color line https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1MVvS1phcE&t=117s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLJRGScHoRE
  16. Cool looking truck, but the bed looks wrong.
  17. I like the option that was mentioned, perhaps by you, that you get big boxes, set up the boxes as lots, and then offer the ability for someone to pay the shipping, if you are not looking to sell them. It would almost be like a "grab bag", where you have no outlay for the shipping. Heck, even WalMart has large boxes for cheap, so you could probably include the cost of the box, and the shipping, $20/$25 per box for example. Then you are not really "selling" the models, you are simply passing on the cost of shipping/packing. Then whatever you have left over, if anything, could be donated. Just a thought.
  18. VERY sharp
  19. First, there is the option to replicate it in paint. There are several tutorials posted here in the forum. This is a search for several similar discussions. site:modelcarsmag.com/forums wood grain You can also do a quick search on Youtube .https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=paitning+scale+wood+grain But the easiest would likely be to simply dig through your kits that have woodgrain decals, and use them.
  20. Very nicely done. I really like the color choices here.
  21. I agree if the point of selling is to free space, then I would not worry about prices. (if you do nothing with them, it is almost guaranteed your family we either pitch them, or sell them for pennies on the dollar anyway in the event you pass if you do not have a plan. I have provided my wife with instructions on what to do with mine, but I plan on building them !! hahahah) I would suggest that you start by offering to fellow builders, perhaps even in lots. That way, at least you know it is going into builders/collectors hands rather than dealers etc. Not to say that is bad itself, but it would be nice to think that there are folks out there filling gaps in their collection. I would be willing to bet if you posted a bunch of pics here, you would have a lot of forums folks interested, and heck, you may unknowingly have someone's "grail" out there. You free up space, your online community gets a chance to pick up some cool stash, and you recoup some of your funds you have spent over time.
