A study in structural bondo...
espo replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Like the old saying, "Buyer Beware." especially at an auction where you have little to no option for inspection. Go back and start rewatching around frame #220. They are talking about the GM style of covering the wiring and the general unkept look under the hood. They never mentioned it, but the first thing I noticed was the paint peeling on the right front fender where it attaches to the inner fender. Looks like they didn't even do any paint prep in that area. When you see things like that you better start looking since I have found that is an indication that someone was short cutting the very first thing you notice on a car, the paint. Usually if that has been done you can count that there will be many other far deeper problems with the car. -

Any serious Ford racer has to have a "Tear Drop" hood scoop just like the Thunderbolts of old. -
WHATS GOING ON HERE?
espo replied to CaddyDaddy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm getting a chuckle out of hearing about how the price of people's new cars and trucks keep going up and up. We keep forgetting a couple of things here. #1 maybe inflation and what a dollar will buy today compared to a time in the past. I'm of the belief that on average while our wages have, hopefully anyway, have kept pace with inflation. #2 The overall content and features of vehicles today are beyond what most people enjoyed on past vehicles. #3 We do have to look at the many "Safety" features that are now required by regulatory government agencies. How else can you expect to drive down the highway clapping your hands and stomping your feet without touching the steering wheel, how boring could that be. -
OK, glad you found what you needed.

Moebius F-250 Snowplow.

Very realistic looking chassis. Looks like the Tim Worm has had its way with this poor truck. -

I like the gritty look of the paint finish. Looks like so many around here that you see sitting in a back corner of a business parking lot and only git used when it snows. I notice what looks like a new create engine in yours. -
Do You Create A Backstory For Your Builds?
espo replied to oldcarfan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I like when a builder includes what their vision was when they post pictures of a build. The back story sort of does that for whoever is looking at the pictures. -
The 2021 Charger kit as I have a duplicate of all the others already.

I'll watch it on TV. They are interesting to see, but way out of the way from here.

They should have ordered a non-refill prescription for something to help with the pain. That is the way my Dentist did it and I wasn't even knocked out.

Thank you for sharing. Man, there are a lot of sweet looking builds here.

The Gasser option is nice to have. Looks as if the only seat option is from the NASCAR version. Just leave off the side bolster.

"Danger Ranger" AMT 77 Econoline Van
espo replied to KurseD's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Beautiful looking paint work and looks like when the Van Craze was in full swing. The "Shagan Wagon" interior is all well done. Ah Farrah Fawcett, who didn't have that picture tucked away somewhere. -
Great looking paint color and finish. Like the interior trim. What did you use for the seat pattern inserts?
-
Great looking GTX. Like the interior and engine details. Got the stance and the Crager's always looked right on the MoPars.

Mpc 1970 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler 70’s street machine flavor

Beautiful looking paint and vinyl roof. Like the back story and helps with the time frame for the Tunnel Ram Dual Quads. The Cyclone Spoiler never got them attention it deserved when new. -
beautiful looking color and finish. Like the stance and upgraded wheel & tires.

Have owned a few El Caminos at different times in the past. I really mis them and wish GM would have imported the Manero Ute before the dumped the Pontiac line along with their Holden family. I already had the Pontiac dealer who sold me my '05 GTO ready to order me a Ute and take my GTO in trade before that all happened.

Stash organization
espo replied to atomicholiday's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Most my stash is not on display because of its volume. I'm using boxes from U-Haul and Home Depot, and I'm sure there are others with much the same type of boxes. The boxes are 25"x25" and 28" high. U-Haul lists them as TV & Computer boxes for moving. They seem a little sturdier than most and provide openings on two sides as handles. When full of kits you will find these handy. I try and keep the boxes contents on a small spread sheet and box the kits by subject, I.E. Chevy, other GM, Ford and Chrysler. I also have a couple of boxes for NASCAR and other competition vehicles. With the spread sheet I can tell what is in the box without removing all the contents to see what is there. I cross off anything removed and pencil in any additions. -

If only these cars could talk. I would love to hear their tails of late night goings-on. -
Great looking interior. What color did you use? This looks much like the Tamiya Pearl Lt. Blue I have used on my present '67 Charger build.

Great looking restoration. Up until now I have always considered this molded color as ugly, but seeing it done in this manor I like it and think it looks feasible in real life. Like seeing the six getting some well-deserved attention here. -
1999 Ford F-150

Like the paint finish. Every now and then you will see something like this on the road. Makes you wonder what all had happened to the truck in the past. -

Great looking rebuild. Like the mural and the tire splash. -
Freshened up Lindberg 1967 Olds 442 from Nov. 2020.

The paint color and finish really pop now.
