  1. Great looking paint and trim. These were a very impressive luxury car in its day. The roof Landau Bars and the wheels look just like the real car.
  2. Beautiful looking paint finish and color. Been wanting to try this type of paint but had been worried about how it would look.
  3. Great looking color combination and paint finish. The body and trim look perfect. This isn't an easy kit to get everything to go together like this. All of mine have become parts doners.
  4. I'm with Bill on the appearance of this build. The picture looks more like the inspiration than the finished build. All the finished surfaces are so realistic looking.
  5. Great looking paint finish. Always fun to build a model of an old car or truck. Often brings back fond memories, especially at such a significate time in your life.
  6. Great looking fabrication on the frame and front end.

    1969 wildcat.

Like the new interior floor. Three pedal is the way to go and a 4 or more speed.
  8. Glad to see you're back on this little wagon. Like the paint, did you fix the roof issue? An idea on your air cleaner issue. The OEM air cleaner on one of these was usually pretty thin with the hood clearance being a real issue. You know the cold air intake and K & N style cone air filters and air boxes used on many performance cars, why not make something like that here since you already have the wheel and tires.
  9. Seems as though I've opened a can of worms with my explanation on this paint. I was just trying to provide an explanation of what it was for and how it looked. I don't want to confuse everyone any more than I have but let me see if I can put this in a way that everyone can better understand. Everyone, now google a picture of a '85 thru '88 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS. The moldings surrounding the windows, the grill area, and portions of the rear bumper and area under the trunk lid all are this shade of black and was often called "Black Chrome". this was a style of trim used on a few GM Products in the hopes that they would look sportier or something. The few times that I had used it on a model the finish, at least to my eyes, looked like something between a flat black and a semi - gloss black. The finish itself was very smooth and in 1/25th scale looked very much like the trim used by GM.
  10. There are several models of current and past vehicles that had black painted trim where there normally would have been a polished aluminum or stainless-steel chrome body trim. This paint would give a finish very similar to the appearance of that trim when detailing a model.
  11. Beautiful looking paint and trim. The sponsor decals all look just like the picture of the real car.
  12. When I first looked at the body of your build, I kept trying to think of any company that had offered a Galaxie sedan kit. The body lines and chrome trim all look in proportion and correct. The interior is done in the same fashion and looks very realistically done. Then with the information on the original car that in its self-interesting as well.
  13. Beautiful looking paint finish and like the bright color. the black body trim is all neatly done.
  14. Beautiful looking color and finish. The original basic Cobra AC Ace was a well-balanced car with handling and performance. Surprised by the right-hand drive, but maybe it was a prototype built in England. About 40 years ago I had a neighbor who I shared back yard fence with. Very nice window lady who would comment to me about my '69 Camaro. One day she invited me to see something in her garage. Opening the garage door, two car garage, the view on one side was blocked by stacked boxes, usual storage stuff sort of look. Her ex-Hertz Mustang in black was parked in the other stall. She and her late husband had bought it when Hetz started selling them off. Behind all the boxes was a red 289 Cobra that they had bought long ago and was now covered with dust from sitting in the garage. She kept it hidden until her son could get it running again since it had been sitting there for several years. She knew I would appreciate looking at the car and also keep it her secret since theft would always be an issue. Always wondered if the son got it going again for her. I had left my phone number with her in case she did want to sell but never did hear from her, even let her know where I was moving too when I left the area.
  15. Great idea on the paint, the gray with no metallic in it seems to be a go to color lately. The paint has a great looking finish, and all the body trim looks clean. Nice looking engine and compartment. Have always liked the sleeper look.
  16. Great looking Chrysler 300. The shade of red shows the body lines and trim well. Like the engine paint detailing.
  17. For someone who hasn't tried this type of build before I think you're doing just fine.
  18. Thank you for sharing your photos. Amazing detailing, especially on the big rigs and commercial builds.
  19. Looking at the VIN one could imagine this was a Mustang that Ford may have supplied to the movie company for the movie. Most cars and trucks used to make movies end up having a very hard life and often require a complete restoration when the movie companies are through with them if they survive at all.
  20. Great looking paint and body trim. Like the realistic looking finish on the wheels.
  21. Beautiful looking paint and body work. Watched your build and the extent of your detailing and adding lighting turned out show worthy to say the least.
  22. I have used a Tamiya brush paint XF-56 Metallic Grey on headers and have been pleased with the look. Another color, lighter shade, would be X-32 Titanium Silver. While not real glossy you may want to dust it with a flat or semi-gloss spray to knock down the shine a little to get the desired finish.
  23. Excellent detailing and lighting. Very realistic looking. I wouldn't have the patience needed for such a build.

Like the tools and junk laying around.
  25. Great looking paint work and the color fits the Jeep. Even with the issues you mentioned this turned into a great looking build.
