    69 z-28

Great looking Z-28. Those kit decals are hard to get to lay down around the cowl induction hood, to many changes in the surface. Like the wheel and tire combination along with the stance.
  2. Beautiful looking paint finish and striping decals. Great looking engine detailing.
  3. Great looking color. The narrow rear end may give you an opportunity to use wider rear wheels and tires.
  4. I also remember this kit and built mine in a Candy Apple Red at the time. You're correct about the engine, but that was the way it was done at the time. As for axels on these old kits I have been making a filler part for the engine and using a wire or brad in the correct diameter as an axel. Your color here looks great with a smooth finish.
  5. I would start with the air brush cleaning Hanjo suggested. I have also used a soft feather duster also. A damp Q-Tip is another thought for some places that may have been contaminated with any moisture in the past. Be careful of getting any decals wet until you know if they were clear coated.
  6. DRAGONHAWK 1066 posted a picture of his '55 Ford f-100 done in Gulf Livery. The paint work looks great and I'm sure he would share any paint info with you that would help with your build.
  7. Starting to look like a Buick version of the Corvette, but with a small back seat. Not a bad idea.
  8. Great looking Bracket Racer look. Beautiful looking paint finish. Like the way the engine is detailed.
  9. Great looking paint finishes and colors. The engine and chassis are both well done.
  10. Great looking Kustom body work and paint. The T-Bird valve covers look perfect for the Y Block engine.

    Baja Buggy

Revell offered a Baja style kit some time ago. The front hood is replaced with what would be a fabric cover of some sort and the fenders are all chopped. That kit is where I found the rear tires for this build. Plan on dueing the Revell kit maybe this year.

    Meyers Manx

Great looking paint color and finish. The interior and engine are both well done. Like the "Gates" brand rear tires.
  13. Great looking paint and the interior contrast looks good. Nice engine detailing.
  14. Beautiful paint colors and finish, like the Gulf Oil color theme. Great looking engine and chassis colors and detailing. Like the stance along with the wheels and tires.
  15. Nice looking body work. Are you going to change the door opening lines? The vent window post removal would change the shape of the side window. Are you going to lengthen the hood to offset the windshield set back?
  16. Google is your friend. Search "1959 Pontiac" and look at the options that pop up. One option is Imagis, and this will give many pictures of real cars. They will offer to show you interior trim as well as body colors. Great way to do some research if you're going for a stock build of a particular body style or trim level.
  17. Great looking Surf Wagon. Lots of added details inside and out. Like the stance, wheels and tires.
  18. Great looking paint and body trim. Like the detailing for the interior and the body markings.

    My 2023

Like the many different build subjects and the way they are finished.
  21. Look forward to seeing you put your finishes on this.
  22. Amazing condition for being in Hawaii that long. One thing I noticed on my few visits to these beautiful Islands is that local cars living near the ocean rust pretty quickly.
  23. I'm in favor of many of the safety advancements on many of the new cars and trucks. The biggest problem is that the drivers have not seemed to advance at the same rate as the equipment that seems to be trying to compensate for the drivers of today. Put down the phone, you're really just not that important, are you? Many drivers are trying to "multitask" when their main focuses should be operating a vehicle, not having lunch or talking to everyone else in the car or doing any number of other tasks. Should these other things be that important, pull off the road and take care of them and then return to the job at hand when you can concentrate on driving.
  24. Just an observation on my part on colors. I agree that most of the new car and truck manufactures offer some great looking colors, but I think the problem is the dealers are not ordering them for inventory. We toke a drive to northern Texas for New Years to visit some family. Hours and hours of staring out the windshield it downed on me that except for a very few exceptions everything, be it a truck regardless of size and cars as well were either a shade of white, silver or black. Most people buying a new car or truck are forced to buy whatever a dealer is stocking. The dealer seems to order primarily these three colors and shades of them. I recall on morning looking out the window of our hotel that was on a street where you could see a Chevrolet store and a Ford store. You could count on one hand the number of cars in inventory that were of a different color. I started looking at dealerships from the highway the rest of the way down and when we returned. They all stocked the same colors and again very few other options.
