Help with parts I.D. please
espo replied to Keef's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The one on the left looks like it could be a MoPar Shaker Hood Scoop from a Challenger maybe. The one on the right looks like it may have been an optional hood for a Drag Race version of a kit. The shape reminds me of a mid-sixties Dodge maybe. -
You make a very good point on what I also believe to be part of the problem. I'm of the opinion that all drivers should be required to reread the vehicle code for their states before they can renew their license. While I freely admit that as a young man, I may have driven a car as if I had stolen it, with time, experience and maturity that has all changed. One thing I have noticed in a few travels in other states where that seem more inclined to enforce some of the traffic laws on multi lane highways having to do with slower traffic being kept to the right side of the roadway. A couple of times over the resent years we have attended events in Kentucky as well as Arkansas and Michigan. We would pass through other states as part of the trips. Most notable was southern Illinois and Kentucky where the far-left lane was open most of the time and everyone seemed to stay too the right. Highway signs were posted reminding drivers of the requirement of staying to the right unless you were overtaking slower moving traffic. Also, the State Police were visible in the center dived of highways and on ramps. Everyone seemed to give each other room to safely change lanes and to exit or enter the roadway. We were able to cover more miles in less time at a slower steady speed, what a concept. Another pet peeve are people that only use their turn signal after they have turned or changed lanes, if they signal at all. I can see what they have done so they don't have to remind me that they just cut someone off. Wouldn't hurt to look before changing lanes either. I tend to look at the side view mirrors of cars as I get near them. What this does is allows me to see where the drivers are looking or if they are even looking at the traffic around them. Newer cars have the little yellow lights that alert the driver if there is a car or truck in their blind spot on either side. Yet I have seen people just change lanes in front of me even with these lights lit and even I can see them. People need to realize that they are steering a couple of tons of steel at a high speed and very close to other cars when they are talking on the phone, drinking something, eating, looking at themselves in the mirror, or fussing with the radio.

Why? Why do left lane sitters go slower than right lane drivers until you move to pass them? Then they think it's a drag race. Last night getting off of the freeway as we pulled into the right lane to exist this driver, I just past doing well under the speed limit, suddenly thinks he needs to speed up to cut me off. When I started to signal that I was moving over I could see the entire front end of his car in my rear-view mirror, so it wasn't like I was trying to cut him off. I have gotten on a local three lane highway and stayed in the far-right slow lane, set the cruise at 75 mph, I know the limit is 70 mph, but the far-left lane is going 80 mph plus. The point is the drivers in the center lane are going 60 to 65 mph. I'll drive at 5 mph over the posted limit for about 15 miles to where we get off and never have to speed up or slow down. I have tried to stay to the left as required of faster moving traffic but I'm having to move back and forth between the left and center lane to allow the faster traffic to go by. The beauty of multi lane highways is that traffic traveling at different speeds can use the same roadway without interfering with the flow of traffic. The secret is that as the traffic laws state, slower moving traffic should stay to the right.

This is something one of the model companies should consider offering. -

Amazing looking build. Well beyond my skill set. -
Your build still looks fresh, and the colors represent the somber palette that Chevrolet had at the time. Well done chrome trim.

Great looking type 1. Good looking color and finish. Like the added spare wheel and tire.

Love the "ridden hard and put away wet look." Looks like it may have been parked near the coast and facing west.

You may fear cutting up a kit, but the secret is making it look like something someone would do. Like the finishes and the colors used. -
Great looking convertible. Like the stance and the wheels and tires.
-
Beautiful looking color and finish. Cleanly detailed looking from every angle.
-
I also like the paint colors. They look very much like an optional color scheme that Ford had offered but was not often seen.
-
Great job extending the roof and getting the overfall look of the four-door sedan body style. Great looking paint finish and chrome trim. Like the Injector Stacks and the right-hand drive.
-
Beautiful looking paint and the stripes and interior color looks great. Much like an "Indy Pace Car" but a shade darker.
-
Beautiful looking paint finish and color on both builds. The custom body work on the roadster looks very possible as a real car.

Had the same problem with the shock tower cover on the earlier Charger I built some time ago. Found the instructions had the part numbers switched from side to side. They are shaped a little differently, and looking at your under-hood picture this may be the same issue.

Great looking interior detailing.
