  1. Beautiful looking color and finish. Your struggles were all worth it looking at the finished build.
  2. Your conversion looks factory correct. The engine looks like it belongs there. The interior and all the other surfaces look great.
  3. Looks like most of the hard work has been done for the body conversion, only you know if it should be completed or left as is as a tribute to your friend. You mention the rear window in your description. I recently built the reissued AMT '59 Chevy C-10 and converted it to the optional larger rear window. The body relief molding on the back of the cab matches the shape of the optional window and after cutting out that area you would have an opening that would match the factory optional window treatment if that became the way you want to build it.
  4. I like the theme of your builds here. Having owned a '57 210 Hardtop long long ago the exterior trim differences are fairly easy to change on the model you are using. The trunk emblem for a six-cylinder car can be found in the Revell '55 Chevy hardtop, the most recent issue and not the earlier gasser style kit. Painting the side panels where Bel Airs had the trim to match the color used on the roof. The chrome trim that extends from the rear taillights along the top of the rear fenders can be shortened. Your changes to the hood trim looks just like the originals. Like your interior changes.
  5. Please send me any additional information on the 1968 Bel Air two door.

  13. Like the bold color and great looking finish. Realistic looking engine detailing.
  14. Built on of these when they were first released. I removed the trunk handle and sort of shaved the trim off the trunk. These were done in a good grade of black plastic. I used some automotive rubbing compound on the areas that I had sanded. When finished the work I had done could not be seen. Consider polishing the body and then decide if you want to paint it.
  15. An old favorite kit and still has good detail considering its age. Some nice Flat Head speed parts if that engine is a consideration.
  16. The interior color and finish are a nice compliment to the paint. Like those wheels.
  17. If I had a dog that looked this bad, I'd train it to walk backward and shave its bottom. Nice paint work anyway.
  18. Great looking paint color and finish. Like the stance and the way you detailed the engine.
  19. IE: Building inspection and The County Tax people in general. Had a similar experience with the county building inspector. Replacing the deck on a new home at about 5 years in. The bottom steps of the original deck only rested on the concrete landing on one side and the other was in the breeze. Wonder how they missed that one when it was a new build. Talked to the county and was told that if I replaced it without increasing the size it was all good and no permit was required. Well, he lied. Went back and forth with these brain surgeons for a couple of months before I had to get an attorney to explain to them what they had said and failed to do originally. The next year I'm building raised planting beds around the foundation of the home. The beds ranged in height from two courses of concrete blocks up to four in some places on the sides as the home had a walkout type basement that made it like a two-story structure on the back side. I'm down on my hands and knees setting and shaping the edges on the blocks and notice a car that I had never seen before cruising around the neighborhood. Started noticing him stop and looking at our house and even taking pictures. I approached the car, and he drives off. Next thing we get a notice that our property taxes are going up because of our flower beds and yard plantings. Had to have a sit down with the County Tax Assessor to get them to stop.
