The type found in the ladies' supply section of most stores can be varied from very fine to rip your finger nail off. Choose wisely or just go to a model supply vender.

I agree with Steven on the wooden model cars. The first one I did was around 1952 of a '32 Ford roadster and was little more than a block of wood with two pieces of thin, soft wood that you would glue to the sides and sand to shape. The two axels would be nailed to the bottom of the wooden block and again some nails to attach the hard rubber tires to the axels. the first plastic models that I can remember were bought in 1954 at a local toy store and were basically copies of dealer promos.

What is your NUMBER 1 favorite movie car

Many great looking cars from the movie's era. The '32 looked great for its part in the movie, the only thing was the chopped radiator shell looked a little off on a highboy style coupe.- 174 replies

So-So movie but some great car chase bits. Still hated it when they painted it flat black after they were caught stealing in the drug store.- 174 replies

Sounds like, #1 Someone is overhauling their own car. #2 Someone is making a little extra side income selling parts. Either way someone might want to put a bug in managements ear about the situation about the internal parts shrinkage.

1960 was a great looking year for full sized Pontiacs and this shade of green shows all the beautiful body lines. The interior colors mirror the colorful interiors in the Bonnivilles at the time. Like the correct looking trunk mat.

Beautiful paint color and finish. The interior detailing is well done as is the engine. Like how you did the wheel treatment. -
Great body color and getting the doors to work. Nice detailing of the engine, interior and chassis.
-
Great paint finish and hood stripes. Like the Viper engine.
-
Great looking paint color and finish. Like the way the engine and interior are detailed.

Two Ford Trucks

Very realistic looking aging and weathering on the body finishes on both builds. All the added little details in the beds and interiors also add to the look. -
Beautiful paint finish and factory stripes. Like the engine detailing and the stance.
-
The paint color is the first thing that catches one's eye. Looks like the '67 spring color offering I think was called Plumb Mt. The paint and body trim look great and cleanly done as is the interior.
-
Beautiful paint color and finish. The louvers add to the overall look of the body. Engine and interior detailing are realistic looking. Like the stance and the wheel & tire combination.
-
Very aggressive looking body with the chopped top and dark color. The flathead engine looks well detailed and right at home here. Great looking interior finishes and color. Like the stance with the big & little tires.

Cool, but reminds me of the old sight gages and comedy sketches where the squirrel runs up the inside of someone's pants leg.
-
Both Both are beautifully done.
-
Great looking builds.
-
Beautiful paint finish and color, chrome trim is cleanly done. Like the engine detailing. Remembering these when new, day-2 cars all seemed to have Crager wheels and Good Year Polyglass RWL tires.
-
Beautiful looking showroom stock appearance. Like the roof rack.
-
Beautiful paint finish and color. Understandable with your description of how you prepared the finish. The contrasting interior color compliments the body color. Engine detailing is very realistic looking. Like the wheels and tires, especially the way you painted them.

Great looking engine detailing.

Another possibility for a red oxide type primer would be Tamiya's Fine Surface Primer L called Oxide Red.
