  1. Great looking colors and finish. I like the Low Rider theme and the "Motor Boat" stance.
  2. Sorry to hear of your misfortunes in life, but it sounds like you have landed on your feet and starting to enjoy our hobby again. I like how you're building this A and the paint finish and color is very rich looking. Thank you for sharing your painting techniques.
  3. Nice to see someone is taking legal action against some of these predators.
  4. I would see how low it would go with some Pro Street type tires filling the Dully fat fenders. This would be great looking which every way you build it, but you did ask for opinions.
  5. Had a Turkey and scrambled eggs this morning. Looking forward to that Turkey sandwich this afternoon. Turkey and Fettuccini tonight for dinner. Lot of leftovers.
  6. I really like the OEM look and the fact that you used the basic Blue Flame Six. Great looking paint finish and color.
  7. We clean the dryer screen after every using. Just drag your finger across and around the surface and it seems to all come off in one little ball. I think that the static cling sheets in the dryer may help with the static electricity issue. If you don't already, be sure to use some of those brushes to clean out the dryer hoses from time to time and the area where the exhaust goes under the dryer before the rear exit is something that can get build up over time.
  8. One thing to remember about early Drag Cars. While a few high buck teams also showed their cars, most were race cars and were torn down and reassembled several times at any given meet and Tech would almost always require a tear down if you won your class or set any kind of record. That being the case a lot of parts were left in their natural state as they were being handled all the time and the money spent on chrome could be used for the cost of racing.
  9. I watched a program on PBS last night about a guy who raised a dozen or so Turkeys from the egg until they all left on their own. Turned out to be far more interesting than I thought it would be. I was kidding my wife this morning about cooking the bird after we had watched the movie. Her take was that this was a bird raised for this service and not a "Wild Turkey" so it was OK. We all should give thanks for what we have today.
  10. Great looking little delivery Van. Your paint work is better than anything they had back then. They all had that "High Water" look for a stance.
  11. I remeber your build on this. You really captured the 1950's Kustom body styles. Great looking paint and the color. All the body work is nice and smooth.
  12. They were pretty well put together after the '74 models for the market they were in. But those cars along with the Pintos and others were considered "Throw away cars" at the time. The reason I asked about the tail panel is that I remember taking a 2 year old Vega to the Used Car Manager for a trade in bid one day and you could stand behind it and see what color the carpet in back was without opening the hatch.
  13. I remember when you posted that find. I wonder if it may have been from the Chrysler Boat kit ? T wish I had bought one when I had a chance but the boat didn't appeal to me at the time.
  14. Beautiful looking Stock build. I agree with you, this is a great kit. Revell also offered a Convertible and a Woody Wagon body style. Your color selection is very timeless and the finish and the trim is all very cleanly done.
  15. As I have mentioned before, I was in the car business for most of my working life. I started with a Chevrolet dealer in '74. As part of my new employee indoctrination I was given the grand tour of the dealership and the Service department. One of the first things I noticed was a stack about three high and running along a wall was a bunch of create engines for Vegas. This was before they got smart and went for the old "Iron Duke" 4 cyl. that GM had to buy back from South America.
  16. I really like these cars, I've owned a few, and this kit so I don't know how I missed this build. I like your theme and the engine looks great. The paint finish looks good and the "nosed" and "decked" look fits with the time perikod.
  17. Very fitting color and a great looking finish. Clean looking trim and engine detailing.
  18. Beautiful restoration. Perfect display on the Motor Transport.
  19. Where did you source the Outboard Motor ? Great looking dash and gauges.
  20. I agree with Tom on the patina finish. I like the chrome accents you added to the grill. Those areas are just raised ridges on the OEM grill but what you did adds a new look to the grill that looks like something that should have been done.
  21. The color, as well as the paint finish, look great. I like the look of the flat hood without the scoops.
  22. Beautiful looking paint job.
  23. Great looking factory paint treatment.
  24. Any rust in the tail panel ? Even in the dryer parts of California the area of the tail panel where the drains from the hatchback dump any runoff tend to rust.
  25. I'm not so interested in a decal swap as maybe trading this kit for something I would be more interested in building someday. What I'm thinking of doing is try and sell this at the local swap meet and show in June '22.
