  1. I remember seeing a 1:1 '58 Ranchero in about 1962 that had an Edsel nose on it. At the time it was hard to tell that it was a '58 since the tail lights on the '57 and '58 Ranchero bodies were much the same. The trim on the dash was the only reason I thought it was a '58. I always thought the Edsel had a unique look and the body parts were inexpensive at the time since everyone was still making Edsel jokes.
  2. Great to see your daughter's creativity and her wanting to follow her father in model building.
  3. Great looking paint designs. I have always admired the paint work and patterns done on this style of building.
  4. Congratulations on your well deserved recognition of your fine model building talents .
  5. For myself the only thing I have found best besides Super Clean is Super Clean with a lot of patience . Another thought would be to remove the body every day and rinse under water and scrub with an old tooth brush. I have found that this will remove some of the old paint that the Super Clean is lifting and allow the fluid to work on the remaining paint.
  6. I like your idea of the '59 Edsel wagon. My thought behind my comments was to create a '58 Edsel wagon by using the '58 Edsel front and the '57 Ford wagon for the remainder. I admit to not knowing all of the details of the differences between the Ford and Edsel bodies. I do recall that in that era many full size Fords were modified with the Edsel wagon tail lights and even some had the front end sheet metal as well. I remember building the early AMT '57 Ford Fairlane hard top kit and noticed the Edsel tail lights that were included at the time. I think this may have been AMT's attempt to offer what was a fairly common style of that time period. I do remember that Ford started the '59 model year with a different body across the board and I agree that would make the tail lights very different.
  7. I like your body color choice for this and look forward to seeing the boat.
  8. Great looking showroom style build. Nice color combination.

    green t bucket

Beautiful looking T Bucket. Lots of great detailing of the engine and the chassis as well. I love the rear tires, they're never wide enough on this style.
  10. I look forward to seeing how you modify the body on this.

    68 z28

The so called Z-28 stripes are sort of a personal taste thing. If you like them then do it, if you don't then don't. Since the color isn't an OEM color I wouldn't worry about it. The more I look at this color the better it looks to me and I would pass on the stripes and your not going to use the spoiler anyway.
  12. Beautiful looking paint work. I like the contrasting interior colors with the black paint. Very clean looking trim.
  13. Sounds like a fun build for old times sake. The engine issue would be the easiest part. The Pontiac engines all shared the same exterior size and appearance regardless of the displacement. Her '67 would have been the last year for side vent windows. A small strip of Plastruct could be used to create the molding for the Vinyl Roof Cover. The Wheels and Tires may have to coe from some other kit.
  14. Being built with the base 150 trim this may very well have a military background. Most air port limos I remember were built off of the higher trim lines. The military used mid '50's Chevrolet sedan deliveries often, but the had side windows like a normal station wagon.
  15. Great looking paint finish and the color looks nice as well.
  16. Is that the hot tub on the trailer ?
  17. Great pictures. The mounting point is at the front of the Valle Cover. This was also the upper crankcase breather for the engine.
  18. Someone could combine the Revell '57 Ford wagon with the AMT '58 Edsel kit to make a '59/'59 Edsel wagon. The tail light parts were in the old AMT '57 Ford Fairlane kit.
  19. I hope the include the surfer dude.
  20. This is to popular of a kit for it to not be redone again soon. New theme and maybe a few addons and different box art.
  21. I'm glad you agree. I have followed several of your builds in the past and enjoyed everyone of them.
  22. I like how you used all the old custom parts and the paint and trim look great.
  23. Beautiful looking color combination. I remember how this one fought you, glad you won. I like the interior, very realistic looking.
  24. Beautiful looking paint and all the trim looks nice and clean. The interior details are well done and I like how you detailed the chassis.
