I admit to kicking up a dust storm in the past about the FedX people sitting on my coffee orders and taking weeks, yes weeks, to get the package from the west coast to here. The shipper would tell me 4 to 6 days max for free shipping and it would wind up taking 2 weeks. Well I ordered my coffee and again was promised 4 to 6 days and they got it here in 4 days. All is forgiven as long as this type of service continues.

Any up dates on the Moebius chevy II gasser ?
espo replied to Mr mopar's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I hope that someday somehow this can show up on a sales shelf. I think it would be a shame if for what ever reason this one drops through the cracks in time and joins all of the great idea products that never make it to our work benches. -
Very realistic looking build.

Beautiful looking build. I thought it was a photo of a real car at first. The attention to detail and especially the engine are something to be studied.

Vintage 59 ElCamino Resto

I like that you saved this and respected the original builders ideas. The light bar and bed rails are an unusual design, but that is part of the charm. -
Beautiful looking finishes. Nice detailing of the chassis . Wish they would reissue these kits as the prices now are getting out of sight.

Would like to see more of this great looking showroom stock build. That was my favorite color for '57's that year. Great looking paint and the trim looks very cleanly done.

Looks great in the photos. Was this a convertible kit , if not how did you create the top boot ? A GTX convertible with a Hemi would have been an outstanding ride in '69.

Nice save and bring it back from the dead. Reminds me of the rage in the '60's when people were taking 1:1 cars, usually 4 doors or wagon, and shortened them.

Looks like an interesting project. Going to take a couple of steps of sanding but it should be nice.

Other than a small wrinkle in the front bumper and a little sun burn on the paint it sure looks good. A day with a clay bar and some good wax it should look as good as new. Sounds like a great buy to me if it runs anywhere as good as it looks. Hard to find anything in decent shape for that kind of money.

Great looking build. This was such an unusual car in it's time. Very cleanly detailed. -
Looks great. Haven't seen a Tognotti build in years.

So many different features. Twin Super Chargers with side draft Carbs. Extended frame and the front suspension. The interior looks very comfortable. I like how the flame decals accent the look of the build without overpowering it. Very nice paint finish.

Look s much better in that shade of blue. Nice interior also.

Great job on the distressed look on the paint finish. -
Looks sharp. A black wash on the grill perhaps ?

AMT '65 Impala box art custom built with Revell kit
espo replied to Can-Con's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Beautiful looking paint and the "Fade" treatment goes perfect with all the body work here. -
Looks good, I like the way you covered the rear portion of the interior.
-
That's exactly what I was trying to suggest. They look perfect in this application.

Somewhere on here is a posting of an old NHRA rule book. One of the spec's mentioned is the centerline of the crank shaft can't be higher than a specific height off the ground. Many other things have had a great effect on the cars and their ride height in the Gas classes as Dan Hay mentioned.

The hub caps look like the after market versions of the Royal Lancer hub caps. The center background was a checkerboard in white and chrome divides. I think Pegasus offers something like them with some wide white tires. The hood and grill from the AMT sedan kit would have the parts you would need if you want the '39 style grill. Otheer wise I would consider using the Revell '40 kit unless they're not around.

Question how would I get this wood look
espo replied to Mr mopar's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Look in the "Tips & Tricks " on the forum and you'll find several tutorials on this. Their are an endless number of ways to replicateate the wood look. Just a couple of examples in paint. Some builders are even using real wood. -
When you look at the Oldsmobile spinner hub caps there're three styles used between the '55, including the '54 Fiesta show car, the '56, the most popular, and the '57. The aftermarket offered a four fin replacement part for the 3 fin factory part on the '55's. A very nice reproduction of the OEM 3 fin caps can be found in the Revell '50 Olds. coupe that was offered with the custom parts. Another cap to consider, and this is where an old picture would come in handy, was the also very popular Dodge Royal Lancer hub caps that were a 4 fin design. I loved these old AMT '40 Ford coupes and I do recall that sometimes the frame would make a slight contact when seating into the fender and running boards part. A very light sanding on the top outer edges of the frame usually eliminated the problem. Should you need any additional or different parts the AMT '39 / '40 sedan and the Delivery models all interchange. Hope this helps.
