You are either a glutton for punishment or one of those that just has to prove that somethings can be done. The finished model looks better than I could ever imagine this kit to be. All of the finishes are beautiful looking and the fact that the roof seems to work is amazing. The closest I ever got to building this was to use the Chrome Wheels for another build years ago.

Great looking Camaro. The paint doesn't look like it would even need any clear and you did a very nice Vinyl Roof. Amazing what a little fine detailing can do for one of these old basic kits.

You wouldn't want to turn me lose with an air brush on such a small part. We all go with what works best for us and I like the ease of the brush clean up and what seems to me to be better control of the application if I get to much on the lens I wick it away with the corner of a paper towel.

Very smooth looking body work. The interior and exterior colors look great together.

I really like the way you have massaged to body on this. The Chopped Top especially since it gives the overall body shape a much more modern look to my eye anyway. You mention the front wheel openings being to high up into the fender. I think that if you start covering the front wheels it might start looking like a car on air and it's aired down. or at rest. You could spray some paper with the same grey primer and cutout the wheel well opening shape. Then move it around on the side of the body before any body surgery.

A concern that I have not expressed before with the new Revell Company and being based in Europe is that they may not have the same interest in what consumers on the North American Continent are interested in purchasing. I hope I'm wrong on this and only time will tell. I feel in all fairness to Revell that with everything they maybe going thru with the combining of the two companies some artistic and marketing staff may no longer have the influence they once had. I'm encouraged by their new Chevelle offerings and the new XKE with left hand drive is a good sign to me that in time things may get better. In the short term maybe they will offer some popular reissues with some new options. This would offer them some revenue with minimal investment.

Your body work looks good.

I have used the Tamiya X-27 Clear Red for about as long as I can remember for tail lights. What I would suggest is to not try and do it all with just one coat of the paint. I have had the best luck by giving the lenses at lease two light coats of paint. I allow them to completely dry before any additional coats of paint.

I also like the Beige color on this. The Wheels are what really takes this catch your eye along with the stance.

The Rambler Americans and the Hornet look interesting. Please post your build on those.

Have you tried the old Freezer trick ? I remember guys who said they got the kit slightly damp and put them in a plastic Freezer bag and left them in the Freezer over night. The idea is that the dampness will freeze and that will pry the parts apart.

I would echo Bill's suggestion. I often build '50's type cars and use Fishing line often. I use .018 / .457 mm line for fuel block to carburetors. I have used both red and white and most outfitters have many colors to select from. Very inexpensive and 500 to 650 yards will last you a life time.

Far to often I'm afraid. There are kits that I see and think of the different ways I would build them so I'll buy it. Get home and go to put it in the "to do" area and find I already have one. Pretty soon I need to make room in that area so I start to put the kits in one of my larger storage boxes. I open the box and put the kits in there with the same ones I already have of the same subject.

You have a real Latham Blower ? A real Blowen Arden Flat Head ?? All you need now is a real roadster or coupe to drop it in. Looks like you have enough projects to take you into spring. The Monte Carlo in the one picture is more my build style but I'm looking at trying a '32 of some sort this winter, haven't done one in years so I'm past due.

All very cleanly built. The color you used on each one suites them perfectly. I like the close to stock but with a little extra look.

Need help with a Chrysler Paint color
espo replied to lordorion1974's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Maybe MCW paints can get you the color you're needing. -
The Latham Super Charger looks like the one that AMT had on the Lincoln engine in the old model T and Fiat Altered kit. I now they had one much like it on the original "57 Chevrolet kit for the 409 engine. The intake will take a little work to create but I think it would look good being something you wouldn't normally see on a Flat Head.. The progress on your rebuild looks great and I like the more realistic finishes you're using.

While I like the big Pontiac engine I still wonder about that little flat Head with the Super Charger on it. At least you got some great starting points out of your trade, a the glue aside.

Great looking group of builds. The finish on the trailers as well as the tow vehicles look like they have been to the Salt Flats before.

Thank you Les I'm glad you liked this one, it was a fun build. for myself. Thank you David. The Chevy gave me a chance to try some new things. Thank you Phil. I hope to have more than two to show next year. Three went back into their boxes this year out of frustration but I hope to finish them and a few more this year.

Beautiful looking "shoe box", I'm a big fan of these and like how you captured the look of the interior. Been following the '57 Bel Air and it's just so close. The Scarab is very nice considering you started with a slot car body.
