Great looking build and I like the showroom theme. The only thing I would suggest is to do something with the headlights to give them a little more realistic appearance, but other than that this has a good color combination and looks very cleanly detail as well.

Beautiful looking paint and finish. The color looks Black on my screen but I have used that shade of Blur before and it is really dark. To me these car some of the best looking Jag's of all time. As a child this is the first sports car that I remember seeing, is this a plastic kit or the old metal bodied kit ??

Beautiful looking finishes on these two. The level of detail on the 1/25th is every bit as good as the 1/16th. For your new companion some Raw Hide Chew Sticks might keep him preoccupied while you're trying to build.

I like your idea of being able to display your model with or without the continental kit. Maybe some added mounting pins that align with the original Bumper / Body setup would give you a better support for the weight of the kit and allow you to line it up the way you want. That way using the same body mounting point you could easily switch between the two display options.

Depending on the type of glue or bonding agent you use the parts will usually hold OK. But the best results will involve bare plastic against bare plastic where the two parts meet. This should be done with small enough mounting surfaces wouldn't be seen anyway

Beautiful looking paint work and cleanly detailed under the bonnet. I like the slim white walls on this with the wire wheels.

The finish on this looks like this truck has had a hard life. Great looking finishes. -

Wow is all I can say. -
I'm glad to see you're getting back building again. In the picture it looks as if you only have the two mounting pins on either side of the spare tire. This doesn't seem like a very secure mounting even in 1/25th. Maybe a couple of additional mounting pins of some sort could better support and align the Continental Kit.

The interior in this looks great. In the photo the color almost looks silver on my screen but I have used this color before and that seems to be the way it will appear in photos sometimes. Almost a shame to put the Air Cleaner on the Engine and cover all of the nice detail there.

Does Super Clean Wear Out, or Weaken?
espo replied to Snake45's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have had some of the same problems as others with older batches of Super Clean, but only when I hadn't changed it for a time. What I was doing was strip a couple of bodies and leave the Super Clean in the Tupperware container between uses. What I found was that the removed paint residue would build up on the bottom of the container I was using and the fluids effectiveness would diminish. I started running the fluid thru a small hand held strainer as I returned the Super Clean to it's container. The debris that was left behind was then thrown out. My belief is that the old Super Clean combined with what was in the original container and kept sealed seemed to end the problem for me. I have a container of Super Clean that I have been reusing in this way for at least four years or more. I don't know if that is considered a good life time, but I'm pleased with it for my use. -
Maybe they want you to think Santa is somehow involved with it. Or you have to remember that both states have an A in their abbreviation for their state.

This looks great. I like your theme and it explains the appearance perfectly. Cleanly detailed and good use of parts for the time frame.

Drop down on this forum too the After Market / Resin ? 3D section. There you will find a directory to after market suppliers, I think it is the second line from the top. Many suppliers have their web sites listed and you can look at what all they may have. I recall seeing a few that offer door handles.

I may have miss stated the length of the Convertible Hood. The stock Hoods will interchange between it and your coupe. You had a mock up picture with the Quad Headlight build option. and in the picture you had the stock Hood in place. Should you use that front fender extension the kit includes a Hood that is longer than the stock one and has a leading edge that would match the fenders.

I think it is beautiful looking. Great paint and all the trim looks real clean. My parents had a '56 210 but with a couple of extra door on the back but almost the exact same colors. They were called Nassau Blue and White of some name. Theirs had the base interior and little else. Even with the fit issues you turned this into a very nice display build.

Great looking Convertible. I always liked the front end on this body style. The Up Top is something you don't get to see very often and the finish here is very realistic looking.
-
Great looking build. Nice that you built it as a Shoe Room Stock since it is such a rear kit.
-
Very cleanly detailed trim and the engine. Paint finish look great.

Great restoration. A lot of body work on the hood and front fenders and the paint finish on this looks great. 0

I have been looking at this and some of your other Edsel's and the restoration on these is really cleanly done. Those "Mercury Cruiser Skits" were the rage back then. I like the colors you used here also.

The addition of the Fadeaway side panels really change the way the body looks, almost like a Buick or Oldsmobile. I have to agree with Modlbldr on the grill in that it is a little large for this design. I recall a design in one of the old Rod & Custom Magazines from the '60's where they did a drawing of the grill opening and using the stock grill from a '55 or '56 Chevrolet pickup. This area offers you a very big flat area to work with. You might consider something like the '49 Mercury type grill opening. An easy part for this can be found in the AMT '49 Ford kit. Beamerman is building a '49 Ford Shoe Box Custom right now and this would give you an idea of how that may or may not look like something you would want to do. With everything else you have done with this a unique front end would really work well.
-
Great work shortening the roof. Are you going to change the back edge of the door jam or leave as is ? You had one picture doing a mock up that had the extended front fenders and quad headlights. As you may know the Convertible kit has the matching longer Hood if you build this with that front end. The added Drip Moldings also look good on this.

Model Master, Pactra, Aztek paints DISCONTINUED

Another alternative would be Tamiya Oxid Red Surface Primer. This would also make a good primer to use under any shade of Red or Maroon.
