No Charger or Challenger SRT Hellcat kit?
espo replied to 89AKurt's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Hi Bill, I'm familiar with the Lindberg kit. I built one a few years ago with the appearance of our '10 Charger RT. Ours had the All Wheel Drive feature which wasn't represented in the kit as it is a rear wheel drive only kit. This wasn't an issue really since the undercarriage on the Charger is covered under the front of the 1:1 in such a way as you wouldn't see it anyway and the kit represents this all very well. I agree with you that if any one is wanting to build a civilian Charger this would be a perfect kit for that. The kit had both a complete civilian interior as well as the Police type interior, so lots of left over parts. -

Great looking truck. I'm with you on this basic kit, it's great. I like how you created this and it evolved over time. I remember your other two pick ups. They are all very different yet come from the same basic kit. Looking forward to seeing what comes next. -
Beautiful looking '53. Great paint color and finish. You have all the little dress up touches from the era on this. I like the finish on the convertible top and the little chrome pieces on the rear that most don't realize were used.

Tuck 'n Roll from Acrylic Paint Queston
espo replied to JollySipper's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
As an alternative to molding paint to create a Tuck & Roll type interior I have been using a sheet plastic product. Plastruct offers several different finishes in 5 1/2" by 11 1/2". What I have used is their #91519 0 scale corrugated siding. Just cut to what ever shape or size you need and glue it over your kits seats and door panels. -
Everything that Pete J. said with one small addition. Should the decals be under a clear coat of paint you might have to redo the whole paint job anyway.

No Charger or Challenger SRT Hellcat kit?
espo replied to 89AKurt's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thank you for the heads up on the Revell Challenger kit. I'll have to see if I can find one around here. The Charger is actually my main interest as an owner. We got a '19 Charger GT with the AWD system to replace our '09 Charger RT with the AWD. I have always been mainly what you would consider a GM type even though I have owned Fords also thru the years. For me the general handling on the road and at speed are the main features that I enjoy, but the interior on the new car and the fit and finish in general and the fact that we have All Wheel Drive when needed make this an ideal car for us. Thank you again for the information on the Challenger. -
Great looking color combination and the wheels work well with the stance.

Great looking T/A, very smooth looking paint work. I like the way you detailed the engine, especially how the exhaust would always rust up.

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!
espo replied to Snake45's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I had a very similar experience years ago with my first El Camino. My wife had one of her girlfriends calling her to say that I was cruising around town with a pretty Blond and my wife had dark hair. One day driving thru our neighborhood we spot an El Camino that was a twin to mine and he had the Blond and he also had same Mustache as I did. We were nearly in divorce court by this time so it was my lucky day. -
These were the first spray cans I ever used on models. They had a very nice smooth and shinny finish and we didn't know about primers and clear coat finishes either. They had some nice Candy Colors also.

With the Chevrolet and Ford kits aside the domestic cars from about 1954 on are not represented. With the cost of creating a new kit from scratch and crossing your fingers that you get it right and can turn a profit I can understand why some of these have not been offered. 1955 was a dramatic styling year for every manufacture in the US. The normal 3 year styling refresh turned into every year or two. This put a lot of interesting body styles out there to choose from , but which one does a company go with ? Very big dice role to sell to the share holders.

No Charger or Challenger SRT Hellcat kit?

I would be interested in either one or both myself. These kits of the earlier version of both of these didn't do well, but I feel that had to do as much with the lack of a GOOD detailed kit to build. While they looked good body wise they were curb side builders. There's a place for these in the hobby but I think that a well detailed kit such as what has been done of the Mustang and Camaro and then they would have a chance to turn a profit on such a kit. -

'54 Chevy ambulance lowrider
espo replied to avidinha's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Great looking conversion on the body and general purpose of the build. A lot of nicely done detail work. The shape of the side windows look like the Ambulances I can remember. The Roof Lights look period correct and the Gurney in the back. Love the License Plate also. This is one of those that bring a smile to your face. -
1953 Ford F100 Pickup

Looks just like some of the Pick Ups I and friends had years ago. We couldn't even afford the Earl Sheibe "any car any color $99.95" paint job. -
Great looking Rally Car. I still see these on You Tube Videos of Rally Races in Europe still.

I like it a lot. Should you look in the rear view mirror and see this, you just know your going to get a ticket.

Beautiful looking builds. I like the two tone paint job on the Convertible. This is motivation to build the kit I have been walking around for a couple of years now.

Great looking restoration.

Beautiful looking paint work. The Good Year Blue Streaks really make this look good.

Nice looking carpeting.

Looks great. I'm starting to notice a lot of decommissioned Crown Vics on the road around here now.
