  1. I agree with everyone else, these both look great. I also like the different colors on the stripes, something a little different makes it just that much more interesting.
  2. I like how all the body lines just flow together including the chopped off rear look. The color and its finish look great. The lights really standout, what sort of battery life does it have ?
  3. Beautiful looking showroom looking build. I know it seemed like it was fighting you but you did win. The colors look period perfect. Many years ago I had a 1:1 convertible with a white exterior and the interior would be a match for your build here. You will like the new Revell '57 Ford wagon even better.
  4. I like the concept of the wagon, and the gun slit side windows.
  5. At one time these were called "A bag of Snakes" by those following this type of racing. Would seem fitting.
  6. Great looking Tall T. I also like the era flames. The engine is a display all by it's self. In the old 1:1 world you have to wonder if all that carburation wouldn't wash the oil off the cylinder walls when you opened all of those carburetors.
  7. Great idea for a present. I also have enjoyed doing replicas of old long gone cars and found it is a good way to remember a point in time. Your build looks great and I like the clean engine and the wheels.
  8. I like the paint work. These square bodied GM trucks look great when they're done like this.
  9. Don't you wish you knew then what you know now ? Besides being a good line in a song it does describe your trailer well. The weathering details here look great. I like how you got the splits in the wood bed and the crusty finish on the frame and everything else.
  10. The storms that are hitting everyone in the North East passed to the north and south of us here in the KC area. We need some of that moisture as we're almost to a drought status. Monday, the first day of winter, we're supposed to have a high of 66 degrees.
  11. I like how you have so many different little details going on and they all work together. I've seen trucks of this nature and always wondered how they came to be the way they are. Taking the time to study this you just keep seeing more and more. The weathering / aging / decaying if you will just looks realistic.
  12. Great looking color and finish. The interior is very OEM looking also. I like the clean uncluttered look without the decals. These had beautiful body lines and with the factory decals they have to many different styling elements going on.
  13. I enjoyed watching your build and seeing all of the effort you put into the body and chassis. I like how you represented some of your work here. The color is very striking and the surface looks perfect. So many details that really make this a great display piece..
  14. I guess it's that time of the year to show our 2020 builds. I enjoy how you manage to combine different kit bodies together and make them look like that is the way they should be.
  15. Great looking paint color and finish. The curves of the body and the lighting really show off the metallic on the paint. Your interior colors are a good compliment to the exterior.
  16. My suggestion would be to consider using Bare - Metal Foil. I would completely remove the kits chrome from the part to eliminate the chance of any additional chrome coming off and this would also give you a chance to clean up or change anything about the part you might want to do. You could also give the radiator grid a more realistic appearance without the kits chrome plating filling any details on the part.
  17. Shouldn't be that hard as I recall. One note to remember. Whenyou get to the point when you're installing the windows, the side windows are installed from the outside of the body and not the inside like the front and rear glass. The flush exterior window finish is how the 1:1 is also.
  18. I have an old AMT '63 Tempest kit that I started many years ago. I regrettably removed the B pillar thinking at the time it would look better. I was wrong then and I think if I get after this one someday I would replace that.
  19. I have found the Monte Carlo and the El Camino with the SS front end both need to be trued up before attaching to the body. Adding an additional inner body support for the front bumper goes a long way to help.
  20. I also have one of the Flintstone bodies. Some of the things I like about how it is done is the front grill area is already done and the casting is very cleanly done. Trying to get the conversion parts on the front of the old AMT Nova kit can be a pain and hard to hold in place while gluing.
  21. Very cleanly built. I like the open roof so you can better see the interior.
  22. Some but not all were electronically controlled by a small switch on the side of the shift knob. When I first started driving for Union Oil Company in the late '60's I drove a '59 GMC Flatbed with several Oil and Kerosene tanks that could be pumped off at commercial sites. The bed would also hold 8 - 55 gal. drums and had a power lift gate at the rear. In that particular application this functioned as an under and over drive.
  23. I just went and did a Google search for images of full size Pontiacs. I guess I stand corrected on the '67 and '68 cars and the 8 Lug Wheels. The few that they had were of the 2 + 2 and Grand Prix equipped with that setup. These are the first ones I have ever seen equipped that way. The Pontiac Rally Wheel with a five spoke appearance were the most common and those had the Disk Brakes.
  24. When I was growing up we had at least two 1959 Pontiacs in town with the option and this is what I based my comment on. With the advent of the Disk Brake option starting with the '67's I don't recall ever seeing any with the 8 Lug Wheel and brake system.
  25. Two great looking trucks and they both have special meaning.
