I never realized just how good the Gremlin could look. I like the lack of chrome trim on this and the well detailed engine.

You really did a great job with this one. The kits decal colors are off a little but you got them all on there just the way they are supposed to be and that is a job in its self. Beautiful looking finish.

I just noticed your picture of the Aztec Bronze spray can is parked as being a Ford color. Ford did use some very nice looking colors along that line on mid '60's Mustangs and others. I think just about any darker body color will darken a little against the black colored vinyl roof. Maybe one of the silver or light gold shades against the black for more of a contrast.

My question would also have to do with a type of thinner to use. I see it often mentioned using Washer Fluid, Windex perhaps ?. I have Tamiya X-20A Acrylic and Model Master Lacquer Thinner, would these not be appropriate to use ?

The Iris Mist as also called Evening Orchid on Chevrolet models. I got mine from Model Car World Automotive Finishes. The paint division of MCW was sold off a while ago but they're still in business. The problem maybe getting the paint over there. I really like how your build is going. You mentioned the Aztec Bronze color, there was a '66 Chevrolet color by that name by the way, and from what I could see on the underside of one of your interior panels that would also look good.

I agree on this interior treatment. Great idea for material use on the panels. What do you have in mind for the seats ? Maybe some more of these panels to make seat inserts as a seating surface.

This looks like someone was adapting the wagon roof from the old AMT Lincoln Continental kit . One of the hard parts in such a conversion is the Tail Gate and this looks like they did a nice job on this. The interior looks like it may be from that Lincoln kit as well. I'd go for it. Disassemble what you got and let it swim in the purple pond for a couple of days. I don't think you would want to try and save the present paint work anyway.

A great variety of cars. I would take that sweet looking '56 210 sedan home with me if I could. I like all the Nova's as well.

Great, you could probably give us all pointers then. I was just worried that you didn't injure your self. I'm sure now you could be the one offering safety tips on this type of work.

I would echo Mark's suggestion. Dremel offers a long list of cutting attachments designed for this type of job. On Safety Equipment I would even add some gloves to the list. The reason is that with a lot of sparks flying around one may land on your hands or arms. The sodden burning feeling may have jerk your hand involuntarily and even break the cutting tool. Don't ask as to how I know this can happen, just take my word for it.

There may be hope on some new colors when Revell gets it's new paint line here.

I agree this is the earliest issue that I recall. The Black Widow issue that I was asking about was the one with the old Dayton Beach Race Track on the front. For some reason some of the first boxes of that had the Bel Air body inside instead of the 150 series body trim. This didn't bother me at all but for someone expecting to build a 150 series car it may have been a disappointment. Revell was good enough to replace the 150 body for me and they didn't even care about the Bel Air body so that was a big bonus for myself. Like so many others I enjoy watching your attention to trim and color details on your OEM type builds and look forward to seeing this one as well.

Great engineering on the chassis, I don't know of a better way to describe it. The interior is real creative and looks much like some of the high end builds you would see at car shows.

Always enjoy seeing the way you "age" a model.

These tail light assemblies can be found almost anywhere trailer parts are sold also. The only difference between any of them would be the mounting brackets.
