  1. You're better off than I then. This is a vary nice looking build and while one of use doing this in 1/25th would be a real challenge it would be cool to see.
  2. I had to make payments. 6 months same as cash . Still takes an hour to mow not counting the edging and the spots where I have to use a push mower. But I enjoy it as I'm outdoors and I don't even ware my mask since I'm all alone.
  3. Nigel, Your body color almost matches the color of my old '67 El Camino and I have always liked the look of it. An idea on your side windows. I recently cut up the side windows on a build. I'm not sure just how thick your windows are but the usually need some support when you're cutting them. I've used thick masking tape on both sides of the cut line. This helps a little to support the material and offers a little protection if your blade slips. I scored the cut line with a #11 blade and then went the rest of the way a fine toothed saw blade in my X-Acto handle. Slow and steady wins over speed in this type of work.
  4. I got the latest issue of Fine Scale Modeler. The only thing I could find having to do with model cars or trucks was a listing of a few new releases or reissues. I can see where there are some interesting articles that were centered on paint techniques that were ok but I don't see that they're putting any effort forward toward what you could call our collective interest as far as automobiles. I have tried to cancel my subscription but they have ignored my requests so I'm stuck for the next year as I had just renewed about a week before they pulled the plug on their magazine. Without some very dramatic changes I will not be renewing my subscription.
  5. Nice retro look. Flared wheel wells leading to a small spoiler on the rear deck. Those wheels and tires would never fit if they were stock. Nice set of Ankle Burners.
  6. If you get the '59 chassis you could open the hood and put a spare engine in there. These could be had with everything up to and including the 348 engines and even the 3x2 setup. and a 4-speed.
  7. I have a Chardio. appointment Monday anyway and his office sits a couple of miles from two HL's so that should kill my Monday afternoon.
  8. I think we're all dreaming on this one. Considering the investment to become "Mold Ready" and start production is such that this could be a life or death for most any company at this point. The safe bet now seems to be add some different wheels and tires and change the decals minimum investment.
  9. At first glance they look like Corvettes but it doesn't take much more than a second to realize they're just using some of the Corvette styling Q's. GM should charge them copy wrights fees on this.
  10. I remember a couple of years ago there was a TV program that followed the build of this car. Amazing what you can have built when money isn't a limiting factor. A normal Moal build, done impeccably.
  11. I can see how at first glance this would look like a Moebius ad. Now that I realize it isn't I'm very disappointed since I'd enjoy a build of such a kit of this subject. Just think of all the possibilities. In addition to a stock build, these were raced in NASCAR, as well as the Mexican Road Race. Many Customs were based on this car as well as Low Ridders and everything in between. Makes you hope someone at Moebius is seeing this. Or Revell.
  12. Very cleanly done. They front end seems to fit perfectly. Great color and the stripes look just right here. That color on the 1:1 Camaros could almost cost you your license. I had a '69 Camaro in Hugger Orange and I got tickets from the CHP even when I wasn't doing anything wrong. Nicely detailed interior and engine compartment.

    AMT ‘36 Ford

Beautiful looking car. As I mentioned in your build, looking at it now you would never know what all went into making the roof work here. The Pearl Green with the Black fenders look great. Nicely detailed stock Flat Head.
  14. The engine is a marvel in it's self.
  15. A lot of outsourcing for parts and it looks great the way you're building this.
  16. Great looking build. Adding the moldings can really change the overall look after they're foiled. That is one of my favorite colors and I have to use restraint not to paint everything Fiery Orange. Your carpet treatment is also interesting since you even gives you some of the color texture you would see in a 1:1 car. Nice interior colors and they go well with the exterior.
  17. I like how you do your Vinyl Roof seams, after seeing how you did your Nova. I'm with you and the painted lower valance. You could always use Bare - Metal Foil there but I think the body color looks better. You mentioned thinking about a body stripe and I would think a color match to the Vinyl Roof color would blend well if that's the way you go.
  18. I have enjoyed looking in from time to time at your build. I like seeing a main stream car like this get some attention. The color shows the body lines well and with just a little suspension work and the wheels and tires you have a great looking car. Very cleanly built by the way.
  19. This looks cool. This is a picture of the mini tractor I use to mow the lawn.

    1937 Ford Sedan

Great looking little '37. As alan barton mentioned, you got the little bits of trim done correctly and that makes a big difference in the appearance to anyone that really knows the subject.
  21. Beautiful looking build and the engineering to get everything inside the body is amazing. I like the picture of the engine that also shows part of the front suspension and the front tires.
  22. In reference to the term "Pink Slips" they are talking about the Title of ownership of the vehicle. At that time the state of California issued titles that were printed on paper that was a pinkish color. They were the same size as the registration slips that were required to be in the car. I never knew anyone who won or lost a car Drag Racing, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.
  23. This morning was maybe the one time I didn't have my phone to take a picture. We were having breakfast at our favorite breakfast place and my wife spotted a Mustang pulling into the parking lot. We walk around it when we were leaving. I think it was a "65 or '66 in black with the off white pony interior and a nicest of chrome wheels on it. The paint just short of show car and the interior was much the same. I wouldn't have parked it in a regular parking lot were everyone parks on top of each other.
  24. Don't forget the Galaxie kits of the Chevrolet for '46 thru '48 year models. They offer a 2 door coupe, a Sedan Delivery, and an Aerosedan also. Very accurate chassis, body and interiors. They even have some speed equipment for the 6 cyl. engine.
  25. The original '60 El Camino was an SMP/AMT product. As ZTony8 suggested, any body parts and maybe even interior also could come from Revell's '60 Impala kit. The chassis under the AMT '59 El Camino would be very basic compared to the Revell Impala's chassis. I have thought about redoing the one I have so I would be interested in seeing what all you can do with yours.
