  1. A very realistic looks Firebird. This was the for mainstream model that most purchased. Like so many others I also remember watching the Rockford Files.
  2. Great looking. Nice color and paint finish. The narrow white walls are what would have been used at that time.
  3. Great looking finish on this build. About as bright as you can get. Your engine detailing is outstanding as is the undercarriage.
  4. I was surprised to see the 292 listed as I don't recall ever seeing one. The majority of these that I remember were the single 4 barrel 312's with the Fordomatic. Fords very popular 3 speed with O/D was often seen but on the more performance models. The engine you have now has the optional aluminum T-Bird valve covers. Yes this was a dress up option on the T-Bird but most did seem to have them. These were polished aluminum and not chrome. I found a set for my '57 Fairlane 500 convertible to many years ago. The other part of that dress up kit would be the air cleaner you have now but with a chrome finish. The way the air cleaner is shaped to clear the low hood line and would hide what carb. you go with anyway. Those are the correct exhaust manifolds for the factory duel exhaust that I think was standard on the T-Bird. The gear box on your engine looks like a manual 3 speed without the O/D.
  5. Ya that's purple now. I like the wide whites.
  6. Staying with the green body color consider a coat of flat clear so that it looks like a primer coat.
  7. Thank you for the information. Should this be the case the ad should stop running fairly quickly I would think.
  8. Not sure how much work I would get done with an executive assistant like this around. You head gear looks like a prototype of my C-Pap machine.
  9. As for the engine all Y-Blocks pretty much look alike. Checking my very old Motors Repair Manuel they list three engines for the '57 T-Bird. 292 cu in with a two barrel is listed at 206 hp. Two 312's, a 245 hp single four barrel and a 265 hp with two 4 barrels. What is not listed is the Super Charged 312 offered later in the model year. Since this is an AMT kit I think you could raid on of the old '56 or '57 AMT Ford kits for just about anything you might want to add to this engine. This could become very interesting.
  10. They were on kind of a tight production budget. I wonder which employee was looking for a new car after that episode.
  11. Just got back on line and notice that Scale Auto is running a subscription ad for $29.95 a year. Now if you just folded your tent I think running a subscription ad for something that no longer exists is more than a little bit unethical, just my opinion you understand.
  12. Great looking build. I like the stance and the wheels and tires. If I owned one it would look something like this.
  13. I agree I also think this looks great even with the afore mentioned body issues. I have touched up very small places in the paint as you mentioned. I would spray a tiny bit of paint into a small plastic cup. Depending on what you're most comfortable doing I have used the frayed end of a tooth pick or a very fine brush and touch up the chipped area. My never be 100 % but it would at least make it harder to see.
  14. Great stance and beautiful looking paint.

Your 12 and cranking out a model like this. I look forward to seeing more in the future.
  16. Great looking build. The colors you used really compliment the body lines. Very cleanly detail and the vinyl roof just looks right on these.
  17. This is a beautifully done wagon. I like how you staid so close to the pictured wagon. Whos casting is this, I would like to build a sedan delivery myself.
  18. I would also like you to reconsider this build. Any problems you may encounter I'm sure that there are many here that will offer ideas on how to overcome them. I think you're a better builder than you give yourself credit for.
  19. I'll enjoy watching this rebuild. Considering the model standards of the day this does make a great looking Baby Bird.
  20. That's what used to be called "laying frame". The color issue is a little funny. You mention that it's purple and your camera thinks it's brown. My screen sees maroon as the color. What ever color it is or looks like I'm sure it will be nice to see.
  21. I have not built my convertible kit yet but the coupe version built perfectly. My only suggestion would be when you start the assembly of all the parts stay very close to the way the instructions suggest. Because of the fine fit and finish on the Moebuis kits they go together best if you follow their instructions.
  22. That is most likely the max humidity level rather than suggested.
  23. I got another of their constant E Mails about some magazines they're sure I need or want. I tried to unsubscribe from their E Mail list and I guess somehow they're now cancelling the rest of my subscription if I don't call their 800 number today. I called and all I get is a busy signal. The recording they left on my phone said that if I didn't contact them by the end of the day they would cancel my subscription and refund the used portion. This might be one way to get them to refund some or all of your subscription money.
  24. Great looking color combination. Nice paint finish and the interior looks very clean.
  25. So you have a pile of lumber. Did it include directions or is this sort of a free range build ?
