Kool looking Kustom, to bad they don't offer this kit now. Great looking paint and just the right stance.

I enjoyed your build on this. What did you use for your heater hoses ? The paint treatment really makes this car standout. I always liked the "rake stance" back then and it offered enough room for thew oversized tires to stick out of the wheel wells just what HiJackers were invented for.

AMT C1500 454SS
espo replied to iamsuperdan's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Beautiful looking truck. I enjoyed wathching your build and I like how you mixed parts from other places. Like you I came up short on a few very small parts on the build I just finished. What I found in my case was in the bottom part of the kit box where the flaps fold together very small parts will get trapped in the flaps if they're loose in the box. Might be a place to start looking anyway. I also like the color for the body and the interior dash details . -
Hi Gareth, Thank you for looking in. I'm disappointed that the wood trim can't be seen now that it's finished, but I know it's there. Paint problems with the Sun Visor and the Skirts set me back as they had to swim in the purple pond three times. Hi Anders, Glad you enjoyed this build. I was trying something different and this kit is a great one to play with. Hi Bob, This build was based on a car I saw in a magazine and the trim was the main thing that I noticed about it. Creating my own trim was a bit of a challenge but it was also very rewarding. Engine detailing is something I have always enjoyed anyway but this engine compartment got real crowded fast and I had to leave out somethings I would have normally done. I'm especially glad you liked it. Stay well my friend. Thank you Greg. While it fought me here and there it was a fun build.

Great looking build. I didn't even know this kit existed.

Great looking Galaxy and the colors really work together. One thing to remember about this kit. The tool dates back to 1963 when AMT was doing annuals of many of the popular cars of the day. The molds are now owned by Round 2 and they are reissuing these kits with some more update additions but they still are more than 50 years old. Kind of amazing that they are as nice as they are and you can see how far model kits have advance in that time. Looking at them today they do seem rather primitive compared to the more current molds of today.

Beautiful looking build. Very cleanly detailed. I'm sure your friend will love it.

Very nice and you even got the era engine color correct. The nice thing about this kit is the parts interchange with the '57 Bel Air two door post kit as well as the '56 210 and even the '55 Hardtop that Revell offers.

Looking for classic white wall drag slicks
espo replied to carchub's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Look for AMT "Custom & Competition / M&H Racemaster Dragster Slicks from round2models.com. They offer four pair in the box. 1 set of Wide Whites, 1 set of Raised White Letter, 1 pair of Narrow Whites and 1 pair of White & Red stripe tires. -
Great humor.

Since you're using Tamiya paint why not use their primer also ? Not sure which '57 Chevy kit you're building but the only trim part you might need to paint would be the rear side panels and they are polished aluminum.

Decal Fix by Acrylicos Vallejo
espo replied to JPolli's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The only way to minimize the decal film is to cut it way as close as you can get before application. The paint finish that you apply the decals to should be as smooth and clear as possible also. A final clear coat covering the decal will also minimize the decals clear carrier film. -
Beautiful looking paint finish and the color looks right for a '66 year model car. Very clean looking chrome trim. I like the Keystones, you just don't see those very often.

Looks great. I like the poverty caps. This is a no nonsense looking model.

We've been waiting for some Jockey under ware for over a month. The package has been stuck in St. Louis Mo. for the past two weeks. I guess they're being field tested or something. Canceled order thru American Express, hope they enjoy their new BVD's.

Just look at that face. Got to love this guy. On the list of breads you left off Fence Jumper. Better find him a different chew toy.

Revell Deutz D30 Tractor
espo replied to GeeBee's topic in All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
That's a great looking tractor. Far to nice to put out in the field working. Being a different subject than normal makes these all the more interesting. -
Beautiful looking Ghia and I can see why they wanted to display your build in their magazine. That may be better than first in class at a model show.
-
This should be an interesting build. I like what the owner of the green car did with it.

The emblem in the center of the hub cap is the key. I think it is the original kits hub caps. The odd thing about the emblem is the cars I remember seeing them on were Corvairs.

A lot of very good low buck options here and any of them will work just fine. I would like to add one word of caution . This has been talked about here in the past by those that know far more than I do. But the area you will want to consider has to do with what type of exhaust fan you use. Remember you're putting semi combustible paint fumes thru this exhaust vent and there is a possibility to ignite them if the fan motor isn't properly designed for the job. This is one area you might not want to try and short cut.

Check any parts house that caters to body shops. They'll have tape and other supplies you will not find anywhere else. They will have real masking tape.
