  1. Thanks, I already snagged a couple there. These were added to the empteen others in my stash. Like I said I really like these kits for two reasons. One they remind me of a time in my life when they first came to market. Second, these were what everyone wanted to build into a Hot Rod in my age group. Thanks again for the heads up.
  2. Great looking MoPars. I like them all. Just think, there was a time you could walk into a showroom and there would be such vehicles on display and a few more outside that you just buy and drive away.

    1955 Dodge

Very nice and original looking build. I used to know a young lady that drove one with this exact color combination. Thank you for the memoirs.
  4. Beautiful looking build, everything just flows together as if that was the way Plymouth built it in the first place. I like the Flam tread pattern on the tires.
  5. For me it would have to be the AMT '40 Ford coupe and the '39/'40 Sedan that followed along with the Sedan Delivery.
  6. Sounds like an interesting project. As for paint, what about a very light coat of "Candy" type paint like you would usually spray over a Silver or Gold metallic base ? Do you think that would work ?

    '55 Chevy

That's the way a "55" is supposed to look. Period correct colors, perfect stance, killer motor.
  8. Very clean build and great paint work. I have always thought these Alfa's were an interesting car. Looks nice without the bumpers.
  9. I see what you mean about the body. The drawing on the box clearly shows a long wheel base.
  10. I agree with everyone else, this is a truly well done build. Getting Black paint jobs to look like this so very hard to do.

    71 Satelite

I especially like the color and the paint finish is perfect.
  12. Great looking build. This is a subject not often seen.
  13. Great looking Comet. Looking at this I just have to get one of these kits also.
  14. Speaking of '57 Ranchero's, didn't Revell offer a '57 Ranchero many years ago ? As I recall it was based on the early multi piece '57 Country Squire. I think at first they offered a stock bodied kit and then a radically chopped one.
  15. I remember when I went to see Jaws in the theater. We were in the front row in the balcony. When they had the shark jump out of the water the first time I almost went over the railing. It was weeks before I would even get in the bath tub, I usually shower anyway. I still laugh at myself over this.
  16. This whole subject reminds me of a conversation I had with my father years ago. We were discussing aging and his comment was "I'm a young man trapped in this old body". This was a man that shattered a leg skiing at Mt. Rose in the Tahoe area will in his 70's. The doctors told him he would never ski again and would have a very hard time walking. Within two years the ok'd him for Cross Country Skiing only and he had no problems walking which was something he enjoyed. Physical limitations are always going to be a determining factor but I think your state of mind is the most important factor.
  17. Great looking build. Looking at the body you would never know there was any repairs done. The interior colors are interesting in that they aren't what you normally see on builds here, and I like that also. The shade of green you used also sets this apart from the norm in a very good way.
  18. I like how you rebuilt this kit, and the paint finish and color look perfect.
  19. First, thank you for the information about there being two models in this box. As for the box art color match, that's not a bad idea. I would think that they had looked at several different colors before picking the one on the box. I would think they are looking for a color that best represented the subject, and something that would catch your eye when looking at the box on the shelf at the Hobby Store. Your build looks very clean so far.
  20. You know I have seen these Shark Cages and have often wondered if the divers ever felt like that worm on the end of the hook.
  21. Great way to display a build in progress. Now you have to market this.

    2000 Vette

Very nice looking build. Something about the Z06 roof line just looks better to me.

    68 dart

Great looking build. I like the flat black hood and the rear wheel openings.
  24. Outstanding in every way. The Sun Roof is a great addition. I like the detailing in the engine bay and the chassis.
  25. Great looking Chevelle, I like the color and the paint finish.
