Plastruct Plastic Weld is a plastic solvent cement. I personally prefer Zap-A-Gap medium CA+ but there are many other glues that might work just as well.

Would this work for foiling trim?
espo replied to Hotrod 97's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Cost is close enough to the real thing I don't think I would bother with it. -
The Peanuts Ford was the first so called funny car I remember seeing. I was at a rather sad track in SoCal called Fontana based on its being in Fontana Ca. As I recall the car was pretty much all steal. The car appeared to be a full bodied 4 door with the engine where the dash board would be and the driver was in the back seat. I don't remember any ET's or speed but it was fun to watch.

I like your Nova idea. -
With "Hunting Vehicles" like these there isn't a single small woodland creature safe out there.

Sorry I can't see either and I don't care to join Face Book. -
Your build turned out very nice despite your being reluctant to build it. I built one years ago when they first offered this kit. The only real problem I encountered was with the wheel backs. They put the wheel and tires to far out side of the wheel well.

"Unordinary", I think you're well on your way with this. I will enjoy this build.

1970 Plymouth Belvedere flat hood?
espo replied to garagepunk66's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Check in the After Market Directory. There are a few casters that specialize in Mopar part there. -
Your Bel Air looks great. Considering how long ago AMT tooled this kit it turned out really great. The dust thing is a pain no matter what scale you're working with. Try owning a 1:1 car, any car in black. I swear I'll never own another one.

I remember visiting San Diego many years ago while living in California. There was a spot just north of there along Hwy 101 when one of these, the roofs where gray at that time, would pull of the Hwy and the hill side would suddenly explode with people jumping out of the tall grass and running over the top of the hill. This would have been in the late '60's and early '70's. By the way your build looks great also.

I agree on the carpeting. Can you share what brand or type of tape you used, I would like to try that myself.

Great looking setup. I like how you extended the rear making it a carrier. This looks like something a Citroen Dealer may use for a shop truck.

AMT 1949/1950 Ford sedan/ convertible .
espo replied to Ballroad's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
To make the '49 Club Coupe into a '50 model all you need is the grill from the convertible kit and create the rear license plate cover. I have done the rear license plate cover on a few builds since I like the looks of it better. The '49 year model Trunk handle was little more than that, a handle. On the 1:1 the key lock is on the right side of the handle. When unlocked the right side handle lifts up to open the trunk. On the '50 year model Ford replaced the handle setup with a body part that contained the light for the license plate and the chrome strip on the edge has the key lock in it. After unlocking the trunk the latch handle is just to the right of center underneath. The reason for the additional information is only to help you know what all this was for. I have found that working on a model of a 1:1 car that I'm not familiar some of these details are hard to understand. IF you're really going for the dead on stock look there are a few easily missed details. The '50 had a Ford crest instead of the FORD lettering at the center of the hood. The hood ornament has the clear plastic at the top ending just before the 90 degree angle to the hood while the '49 extends further and is angled forward. The '50 kit has the correct shape so that would be the solution on that. I hope this will help you with your '50 Ford build. -
Panther Pink is a bold color for any Mopar. They wear it well. Nice save on this, I have never seen a Charger Promos before.

Very nice, any additional pictures ?

D-100 Reissued -- C-10 Next ?
espo replied to 1972coronet's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have to agree with the other fans of the Square C-10 Chevy's. I admit a personal preference since I have owned both a '74 and a '79 short step side. I realize there are those that prefer the Fleetside so maybe they could issue one of each. The grills and some exterior trim are the only real differences between the year models. The interiors, depending on trim level, are almost the same except for the Dash. I'd buy a few of each thank you. -
Now that is racing. With some of the Turbo 4's and 6's we see today and front wheel or even AWD systems that could be very interesting and far more relevant than what passes for "Stock Car" racing today.

AMT 1949/1950 Ford sedan/ convertible .

First let me say that the conversion done by Modlbidr has got to be the best home grown conversion I have seen. If you can find one of the Modelhaus resin castings grab it. At one time they even offered a Crestiner with a simulated vinyl roof. An easier way around all this to create a two door Sedan check out Star Models. They have a presents here on the forum under Resin/After Market. There is a list of many different suppliers there and I have one of the Star two door kits to recreate the '51 Ford tudoor I had in my wasted youth. -
Thank you for the information on this kit. For some reason I passed on the purchase during the last reissue. Based on your build I'm inclined to pick one up the next time I see one.

There is an outside chance that they have seen or heard of a pencil, as for the Cassette you just know they would be dumb founded trying to understand how music could be stored on this.

This would be far to complex and undertaking for the average child today. Even with an instruction sheet to go by how would they ever figure out where the different parts go ? Now if there was an APP to explain it then maybe if they could focus long enough on the subject they might get some of it done before they lost interest. The time it takes for glue to dry would be their undoing. Painting would be out because it require some prep work and I just don't see that happening. There would be "selfie" time to share with all the others who care what they are doing. I know that there are many very young builders that are capable of this and more, I have seen some of the builds here and many are inspiring to see. Unfortunately they are far to few and far between.

I don't know how practical something like this would be with a little 4 banger under the hood.

Anyone who does this to any car, let alone a Corvette, should have vehicle ownership revoked for life.
