  1. You have the stance. You have an unusual but hot Flat head. Great looking wide whites. Maybe a nice shinny '50's type sleeper. Ford offered some pretty two tone paint jobs with the contrasting color on the roof and interiors to match. If you want to age it you could add some gray primer spots where the hood and trunk are filled and maybe a dent or two repaired.
  2. You really had to slice the top and the cowl areas. I have not built this kit myself but it sounds as if it may be a change.
  3. I noticed that you have created a hardtop from the pillared sedan body. I would suggest you redo the area around the top edge of the sedan door opening. The line in the body for the upper portion of the sedan door really stands out. With a little work you could match the window moldings along the bottom edge and connect the moldings between the front door and the rear window both top and bottom. Not sure what your intent is with the large areas of the body being foiled. I would be interested in seeing your tail light modifications and what you have done in the grill area.
  4. Another fabulous looking Ford. You didn't mention the modifications to the hood, but I noticed that you made it to resemble a stock two part hood with the added center ridge. The hoods that were welded together as a smooth one part hood just never looked right to me.
  5. I'm not into four doors and have never build a model as a police car. But after watching the effort you have put into this and the way you have strived for accuracy I'm thinking I will be build my first one when this body comes available.
  6. This interior is just to nice to be in a coupe. You should consider making this a convertible because of the interior alone. By the way the picture of the body and paint look as good as the interior.
  7. I like the dash and the paint finish looks very good even without any polishing being done.
  8. The bumper and tail lights look to be an early Ford from the late '20s to the '30s. Those and the Motor Minder Radiator cap and one spinner is about all you have here.
  9. Looks great. To bad so many of these trucks were treated just like this in 1:1. Very realistic looking ageing here.
  10. I don't recall seeing a Brass Era model for a long time. This is very well done and I like how you used the folded top from the AMT T.
  11. I followed your build and all your hard work really shows in the finished model. I like the "soft" color you chose for the finish and the interior looks perfect. I see what you mean about the grill to hood fit. I'm sure you'll figure out something good for that.
  12. Great paint and interior finish. The engine has all of the proper Street Racer goodies also. The right stance, the right wheels and tires, plus side pipes, those were the days.
  13. Very nice clean looking build. If you ever go ahead with your 6 Cylinder build you might check some of Revell's truck kits as some offered the 6 cylinder engine you would need including the correct air cleaner. I have also thought of such a build but just haven't gotten around to it.
  14. Great "Surfer" graphics. The Waves around the wheel openings are nice. I also like the rear window louvers.
  15. Great looking build. I like the way you hinged the tail gate, that adds a great deal to the finished model.
  16. Half my life has been spent in different parts of both southern and northern California. The things I miss are the Santa Ana winds, extreme drought, and the burning season when the whole country side is ablaze. Then course an Earth Quake every now and then was always exciting. When we left the sentiment at 20 years ago was "The last tax payer out turn off the lights" . Nice to visit but just couldn't afford to live there anymore.
  17. So Thursday night my lovely bride of 33 years this May and I are enjoying a glass of Wine on the deck at the end of the day. The temperature was 68 degrees at 6 P.M. and we are discussing our weekend plans. Friday evening its at 32 degrees and falling, no deck time. Got to run all your errands today because its supposed to SNOW again Sunday. Don't you just love living in the Mid-West ?
  18. Many of the earlier issued kits had their merits but the much newer Revell offerings are the best in most every way.
  19. They all look great tome. I had one for a short time with the pick up bed. If you are driving any distance at all it is nice to have a place to put your suit case or anything else you might want to take with you.
  20. Many good suggestions on how to evaluate the paint condition. I have several paints that have been with me for 10 plus years and for what ever reason just never got used. I would suggest, as others have pointed out, just open and use a regular old tooth pick to break up the residue on the bottom. Keep mixing until the residue is mixed in with the clear and then reseal and shake the bottle for a while. Reopen and test as suggested. I have gotten several that I was able to save and many that I could not. I think it has to do if they had ever been opened and exposed to oxygen at some point as that would start their deterioration. If all else fails it would seem that you could sell them on EBay and make a fortune.
  21. I have to agree with your perception of how people should drive. I wanted to get back on the Forum this morning to apologize to you. I thought about what I had sent to you and was afraid you would take it as a personal attack on my part, and that was not my intent, but after thinking about it I realized that it could easily be taken as something personal when I was really expressing my frustration with how drivers seem to operate a vehicle in this area. From your reply it would seem that you understood that it was nothing to do with you as an individual, only drivers in general. As I think you can see this is something that bothers me a great deal. Thank you for understanding.
  22. The middle lane is not OK to dilly dally around at speed well under the speed limit, this is per the state issued rules of the road had books at your local DMV office. This behavior is what causes so many traffic jams when the number of vehicles on the road increases. Left lane sitters are the only ones that are worse. The right hand lane is for slower moving traffic and you are not supposed to speed up to cut off anyone trying to merge with traffic only to slow down after you beet the guy to the top of the on ramp. The left hand or fast lane is for overtaking or passing slower moving vehicles. The center lane should be maintaining a speed with the flow of traffic without obstructing that flow. This means that you don't speed up to block anyone passing you to prevent them from getting back into the center lane. The basic rule and the LAW is that slower vehicles keep to the right lanes. Kansa does not enforce their own laws of the road and this is what causes so many accidents on the highways. I have traveled in some other states that enforce these rules of the road and traffic moves much smother and outside of a rush hour situation have not had any problems.
  23. You might consider some rear fenders, but I wouldn't worry about not being noticed at the party. Where does the line begin for the Rocky Mountain Cool Aid ??
  24. All of your efforts on this really paid off. Very interesting to look at all of the well done details inside and out of the van. Very cool looking.
