Beautiful build. I don't remember the exact time frame, but Ford did offer a limited number of Mavericks in the states with a 289 V-8 toward the end of production here. Always enjoy seeing what was going on in other parts of the world.
Very nice clean looking build. I wouldn't beat myself up over any paint issues, If you didn't point out what you feel are faults most people wouldn't even notice.
I'm not much of a Mustang guy, but I know a cool car when I see one. Reminds me of a sticker I saw years ago a guy had on his dash. "Sit down, hold on, and shut up".
Sorry all. I was thinking Special Edition in general and not Corvettes exclusively. If it were just Corvettes then the '58 and or '59 reissues would make sense. I think that they would need a new tool for any of the other C1 Corvettes. For C2's my personal favorite is the '67 Big Block, but any of them would work for me.
I went to see Cars #1 since I was curious. Cars #2 was alright but once is enough on that. I think they made a move called Ratatoy or something like that. I was about a mouse that goes to Paris and becomes a Chef. A lot of laughs in that one and the animation is even better than Cars.
I have used Meguiar's Plastic X polish on a couple of old kits that where molded in color. Polished by hand and they looked great. It also will restore your head light and tail lights to look like new. It will even work on a scratched instrument cover and a scratched plastic dash and console.
Great looking build. I also had a neighbor who had an earlier model Hudson. Never got to ride in it though. I used to remember all of the neighbors and what kind of cars they drove. A lot more fun than video games.
This reminds me of so many vehicles that I saw growing up in the 'burbs of Chicago. I would visit an uncle who lived in Detroit and it was even worse there. After spending most of my life in different parts of California I can really appreciate just how hard it is to keep a vehicle nice in the "Rust Belt".
So the great state of Illinois thinks your company is not in good standing ?? You might remind this yahoo that Illinois is just about bankrupt and your company is likely more financially stable than his state.
I noticed some great bargains also. '50's and '60's trucks people are paying "stupid money" for and there are just a ton of clones. I think it all has to do with your "Fantastic Economy."
I would outline the area as best you can with some tape to protect the body. Then with a #11 blade slowly outline the molding until the parting line from the body is very distinct. Since the area will be painted at some point I would make the line deep, and do the same on all of the "chrome" body trim. This way when it's time to foil or paint the trim you will have an easy to see separation line.
Very nice and I like the Michigan style lower rockers weathering. Just a thought on the 5 lug wheels. There are a lot of '57 Chevy Black Widows out there that lost there 6 lug wheels.
Always thought the Larks were kinda cool looking anyway, but with that paint job it really looks outstanding. The shape of the roof looks almost as if it could have been a convertible top at one time. Makes you wish it was real.
