  1. Great looking Chevelle. The paint is nice and smooth, and the SS stripes look nice and even. Like the clean assembly.
  2. While many Camaros were just a normal car in the performance area, they also offered several high-performance options and model variations. This model is of the RPO Z28 order option that was designed to compete with cars from other manufactures in a class by The Sports Car Club of America, I.E. SCCA. The Z-28 had an engine that used the 327 cu in block but with the shorter crank stroke from a 283 cu in engine. This engine displaced 302 cu in and was designed to operate at very high engine speeds. The option included special suspension components designed more for road racing than highway use. Power front disc brakes were also part of the standard package along with 15" steel wheels to clear the larger diameter disks. The exhaust represented in this kit was called "Chambered Exhaust" and wasn't really appreciated by most law enforcement. The duel four-barrel cross ram intake manifold and carbs were an extra cost option along with a four-wheel disc brake option. Even with the standard single four-barrel Holly carb these cars were nothing to mess with on the street and took the manufacturers trophy in the SCCA. Super Car, maybe not, but for the money lots of luck finding many cars that could begin to match these cars for acceleration, handling, or even stopping.
  3. I remember when the present Charger body style came out in a four door, and I thought "what are they thinking?" Well after owning a '10 Charger RT with AWD for nine years and just shy of 100k miles that I traded for a left-over end of year '18 Charger GT model, now the AWD could only be had with the 6 cylinder. I'm going to ride this one out before I think about the new ones. I have usually always had some sort of performance car or truck in the garage and for my driving needs I have found why so many law enforcement depts. like the handling of these cars. While the 6 cylinder isn't the animal the Hemi is, it has no problem handling 90% of the other cars on the road and the 24 to 25 mpg fuel average that I have gotten over the 48k miles I have owned it is a nice bonus with today's fuel costs.
  4. There was a time in the far distant past when someone threatened to shoot the tires out from under my '57 Ford Convertible, not an idle threat either, that I used to drive far faster than I should have, and the cutouts were always open. The more things change, the more they seem the same.
  5. Great looking paint colors and finish along with the body trim. Like the interior details. These early designed kits make you appreciate the newer kits of today, but with clean assembly and detailing they can still show well.
  6. All the best components brought together with a beautiful looking finish and door art. The engine is sort of the center peace but there is so much else going on here.
  7. Great looking paint color and finish along with the stripping. Almost a shame to cover up the 3x2's with an air cleaner. Like the chassis and extensive engine detailing.
  8. Lot of great looking cars. Besides the LTD Woody wagon, the AMC Pacer with the blocked off rear quarter windows looks interesting.
  9. Plan on using some Solvaset on the Hood decals around the rear part of the cowl Hood. The decal has to sort of bend over the raised portion of the Hood and it doesn't like to bend like that normally.
  10. My complements to your nephew for his golf shot. Sound better than a hole in one to me. I think this whole protected species thing with Canadian Geese is long overdue for review. We have much the same issue here in the greater KC Metro area on both sides of the state line. We downsized from our home of over twenty years a couple of years ago. We were on a body of water and these dirty birds were everywhere. They would come up into our yard and eat the grass into the dirt and leave their poo everywhere. All night long it was like a yard full of barking dogs on the water and in the yard. Bottle rockets and BB Guns didn't seem to deter them. One day someone mentioned laser pointers like you would use in a presentation in an office setting. What I found was I could lean out the back door around dusk and start trying to shine the pointer around in front of them on the water or in the yard. They would freakout and start squawking and I could herd them all the way across the lake. The other thing about these Geese is that they are a nasty to each other besides being really lazy. During the winter when the lake would try and freeze over only the Ducks movements in the water would keep an open spot and the Geese would then move in and try and take over the open water from the Ducks. In the twenty years we lived there I only saw two types of other birds that the Geese were intimidated by. The would move out of the way when the Swans would stop off when going north or south, and the Blue Herens. While the Herens are a shy bird and don't like to be around humans, they can be deadly to other critters that threaten them.
  11. Had a similar experience when i was a high school student. They were always trying to scare us to be careful drivers by parking mangled cars on the lawn in front of our school. After school we would often go to a drug store in town, about a mile walk, and have a soft drink and hangout. On the other side of the alley behind the drug store was a small storge lot for the PD with no fencing around it and you could wonder through all the wrecked cars. At that age I think a certain amount of morbid curiosity is not unusual.
  12. Great looking paint finish and the tail stripes look good against this color. Like the engine details.
  13. Great looking body color and interior combination. Like the engine detailing.
  14. Beautiful looking paint color and finish. Like how you got the doors done, also sometimes called "scissor doors". The covers for the inner fenders and the engine are well done. A lot of extra chassis detailing also.
  15. Great looking recreation of the pace car. I wonder if the picture is of Yagers car that Chevrolet would lease to astronauts for $1.00?
  16. TS-14 right out of the spray can is hard to beat.
  17. Remember this being a popular color on Mustangs way back when.
  18. This kit is one of Revells better efforts. I have bought a few just for the engine parts.
  19. Shame about the nice looking '59 Chevy. I was always under the impression you were supposed to avoid running into another car.
  20. Google Images will have lots of pictures of real cars to base your color choice on. I know a few of them were built with a beige interior using a couple different shades of beige as they would do on whatever other colors they offered. The base line cars would usually have a heavy rubber floor covering.
  21. I know the Praying Mantis female will eat its mate. Sort of reminds me of an ex-wife I knew.
  22. This is what I was suggesting for future builds where there aren't any coil springs. I think these could also work as lowering springs on rear coil spring suspensions as well.
  23. Scoop it up, put it a plastic bag and leave it with a note by their front door. Explain that their dog had forgot something in your yard.
  24. Great looking paint work and livery.
  25. Great looking patina finish. The 4x4 conversion looks factory. A Ford in a Chevy not often seen, but why not when it looks this good.
